Taylor Swift decided to drop some news at half past midnight on August 12, 2025. The songstress is calling her new project “The Life of a Showgirl.” It’s the name of her forthcoming twelfth studio album. The title appeared on her official website, and was also announced by the star herself in a clip she jointly posted with the account for boyfriend Travis Kelce’s podcast, “New Heights.”
Swift’s website says preorders of the album’s vinyl, cassette tape, and CD are now open while supplies last.

Revealing the project to Jason Kelce via video chat in a podcast trailer, Swift dramatically pulled out a mint green briefcase which bore the initials “TS” before announcing, “This is my brand new album, “The Life of a Showgirl.”
Jason let out an excited yell immediately upon hearing the news. “TS 12!” Travis chimed in.
It was announced shortly before the album news came out that Swift will be a guest on the football stars’ podcast, “New Heights.” The music megastar is expected to appear on the Wednesday, August 13 episode, marking what will certainly be the brothers’ highest-profile podcast interview ever. Fans should look for the podcast release at 7:00 p.m. ET, according to People.

Taylor Swift Fans Went Wild Over Her Big Announcement
The podcast clip Swift posted to her Instagram announcing “The Life of a Showgirl” had already racked up almost 2 million likes less than an hour after it was posted. It also received an outpouring of enthusiasm.
One fan declared that the news “broke the internet.”
Another typed in all caps, “The way I just screamed.”
“I SPIED THAT ORANGE TS IN THE BACKGROUND OF THE OTHER CLIP OMGGG,” exclaimed someone else, referring to a previously released preview of the podcast in which Swift and Travis appeared super flirty, according to People.
The outlet says the clip shows the athlete calling Swift “sweetie” after complimenting the color of her eyes. “It’s why we match so well,” he declared.
Cosmo says eagle-eyed fans previously found clues that the announcement of Swift’s new album was imminent.
The outlet says one of those clues was an August 11 social media post created by Taylor Nation which read in part, “See you next era.”
