Fans Offer Seth Meyers Comfort After He Shares Heartbreaking Family Loss

Seth Meyers is grieving the loss of a beloved member of his family. The Late Night host shared on Instagram on Tuesday, August 19, that his loyal companion of 14 years, his dog, Frisbee, has passed away. Calling her his “OG IG”, Meyers remembered countless moments they spent together.

Inside Meyers’ Heartfelt Goodbye to Frisbee

“RIP to Frisbee, our OG IG who I was happy to go grey with,” Meyers wrote alongside a carousel of photos. “She was at her best curled in your lap and patient when we dressed her up like a pilgrim. Thanks for 14 amazing years, girl.”

The slideshow featured heartwarming snapshots, including Frisbee licking Meyers’ face, puppy photos & candid shots from their years together.

Fans & Celebrities Share Condolences

The tribute quickly drew comments from friends, fellow stars & fans. “Noooo! Frisbeeee! Sorry for your loss. ❤️,” wrote Rachel Dratch, while Retta added, “Awwww Frisbeeeeeee. 🩶🩶.” Sarah Paulson posted, “Oh Seth!!! Darlingest of the darling dogs. Sending you all my love.”

“Charmed” actor Alyssa Milano also chimed in, calling the loss of a pet the “worst pain ever,” adding, “I’m sorry for your loss.”

Another comment read: “Oh no Sethy boy – may his memory be a blessing”

Frisbee’s Famous Feud With Andy Samberg

Many fans remembered Frisbee’s ongoing bit with Andy Samberg, who often roasted the Italian Greyhound during his Late Night appearances.

In 2020, Frisbee even appeared during a virtual interview, hiding in Meyers’ arms as Samberg joked, “Frisbee, I just want to say, it’s all in good fun. You’re a good dog.”

Samberg took the running gag further in March 2023, calling Frisbee “Seth’s nightmare-inducing hell spawn” and joking it looked like a “rat-foreskin hybrid.”

The feud even inspired a prank last month when Amy Poehler tried to convince Samberg that Frisbee had died. Samberg laughed it off at the time, saying, “Don’t even play ’cause I’ll be so happy. I will never back off that. That dog sucks, dude.”

Remembering 14 Years of Love & Laughter

While Frisbee became a running punchline on late-night TV, she was first & foremost a cherished member of Seth Meyers’ family. The Italian Greyhound often popped up both on Late Night and in Instagram posts, cementing her place in his comedy and personal life.

In his tribute, Meyers reflected on the bond they shared, saying Frisbee gave him “14 amazing years.” Although Andy Samberg has not publicly commented on her passing, fans continue to honor Frisbee for the joy she brought to Meyers’ home and the laughs she inspired among viewers.
