Richard Simmons’ Hollywood Hills mansion just hit the market almost a year after his death.
The home could be yours for a whopping $7 million, according to TMZ.
Simmons became incredibly popular in the late ’70s and early ’80s due to his energetic fitness videos and frequent TV appearances. He had 65 workout videos, which sold over 20 millions copies, according to Richard Simmons website.
He also had his own syndicated show, “The Richard Simmons Show,” which went on to win numerous Daytime Emmy Awards.
The Home Is Filled With Unique Finishes
The Zillow listing states the California home is a four bedroom, five baths and just over 4,000 square feet. It was built in 1937 and described as a “NeoClassical Revival Colonial.”
It sits on a little over a half of acre of land right above the Sunset Strip.
The gorgeous home sports many unique features. The listings shows the circular staircase that leads to a four room, two level suite. It is described as having “a dressing room, gorgeous bath, and large finished upper level Keiser equipped GYM or living space.”
The suite has a balcony that overlooks the luxurious circular pool and also has a pool house.
In addition, the home has its own maid’s suite, which includes a laundry and a pantry. It also has its own service entrance.
Simmons Died in the Home
The legendary fitness guru died in the home on July 13, 2024. It was one day after he celebrated his 76th birthday.
At the time, Simmons’ brother Lenny said the iconic TV personalty suffered “complications from recent falls and heart disease,” according to the New York Post.
Lenny took to the reclusive star’s Facebook page the day after his death asking for fans to not be sad. He wanted his brother’s life to instead be celebrated.
“I don’t want people to be sad about my brother. I want them to remember him for the genuine joy and love he brought to people’s lives,” he wrote. “He truly cared about people. He called, wrote, and emailed thousands of people throughout his career to offer help.”
He added, “So don’t be sad. Celebrate his life!”
A spokesperson for the Simmons family later shared a statement through PEOPLE expressing their thanks for all of the well wishes.
“The Family wishes to thank everyone for their outpouring of love and support during this time of great loss,” the statement read.
