Oliver Hudson is opening up about this mom, the legendary actress Goldie Hawn.
He wants to see her back on the big screen. “There’s nobody like her. I don’t think anyone ever will come along like her,” he said.
Hudson made the comments on a solo podcast of Sibling Revelry.
“Number one, yes, she’s my mother and she will always be my mother,” he said. “I don’t look at her as anything else.”
He called her a “force.”

“She was a pioneer, let’s say, fighting for her creativity, fighting for her ideas, not taking (expletive), and paving the way for a lot of young women to become what they’ve become,” he said on the podcast.
“She’s a (expletive) icon that way, and so it was emotional for me to watch her on stage looking incredible,” he added, referring to Hawn appearing at the Academy Awards as a presenter in 2025.
But he said that seeing Hawn at the Oscars was “sad in a way.”
“I want to see her on screen. This is where she thrives,” he said. “This is what where she belongs.”

During the Oscars telecast, Garfield praised Hawn and made it clear how much he admires her. Hudson also wrote about that tribute on his Instagram page, sharing a picture of Garfield with his mom.
“This was so touching and unexpected. Andrew that was beautiful my man. I cried, I laughed, I swelled with pride and then became concerned that my mom was now gonna love Andrew Garfield more than me.. I’m still not sure where I stand. She hasn’t responded to my texts so…. @goldiehawn,” he wrote.
Hudson says his mom’s screen presence amazes him.
“It was just amazing to watch this woman go to work. Just crazy,” Hudson. “I just wanna see her work because she’s just so good. She’s just so awesome.”
“I go back and watch some of her old movies and it’s incredible how amazing she is. Not just how funny, but what an incredible actor she is,” he said on the podcast. “You know, what she brings to these characters and these roles, which is something you can’t really define. You can’t practice it. You can’t try to do it. It’s just innate.”
