Mick Jagger’s fiancee Melanie Hamrick has opened up to Us Weekly about their relationship and why she wants to keep it private.

“I think family is so personal, and it’s a bubble,” Hamrick, 37, told the publication on May 8, at the NYC Ballet Spring Gala at the David H. Koch Theater in New York City

“It’s nice to share things, but it’s like the ballet: there needs to be a mystery or people are going to get sick of you,” she confided to Us Weekly.

To Page Six, she gushed, “He’s amazing, he really is,” and she joked about the couple’s 44-year age gap, saying, “He’s younger than me.”

According to Us Weekly, Hamrick is a former ballet dancer. Asked what she wants to keep the most mysterious, she responded, “My private life.”

“I love the Kardashians, however I’m not as comfortable in public,” she continued to the magazine.

Paris Match reported in April that Hamrick “now devotes herself to her son, Deveraux, born in 2016” to her and Jagger.

Hamrick has provided details about her relationship with Jagger in some interviews, though.

According to Paris Match, Hamrick and Jagger have been together for almost 11 years.

She revealed that Jagger had proposed to her several years before the April 2025 interview.

“Maybe one day we’ll marry, maybe not,” Hamrick told Paris Match. “We are so happy in our current life that I would be too afraid to change anything.”

According to Us Weekly, Jagger and Hamrick “met in 2014 after a Rolling Stones concert in Tokyo after” after she attended with members of the American Ballet Theatre with complimentary tickets.

Jagger is 44 years older than Hamrick, according to Us Weekly.

She addressed the age gap to The Sunday Times, saying, “If you think about others’ opinions, no matter where you are in life, you’re going to have a problem and you’re going to analyze it. I put the blinders on. Am I happy? Yes. Are the people in my life happy? Yes. Am I hurting anyone? No. OK, they can mind their own business.”

According to Page Six, Hamrick is no longer performing as a ballerina and is writing novels instead.
