Michael J. Fox Turns 65, Wife Tracy Pollan Shares Sweet Tribute

Actor Michael J. Fox turned 65 on June 9, and wife, Tracy Pollan, marked the occasion with a heartfelt Instagram tribute.

In a series of personal photos, including one of the couple enjoying a beach day and another of him on a park bench, Pollan celebrated their decades-long relationship with the message: “Happy birthday my love! Wishing you the best one yet, I love you and can’t wait to celebrate!!”

Pollan and Fox have been married since 1988 and are parents to four children: Sam Michael, 35, Aquinnah Kathleen and Schuyler Frances, 30, and Esmé Annabelle, 23. Known for their unwavering partnership, the couple has faced life’s challenges—including Fox’s battle with Parkinson’s disease—with grace and unity.

A Lasting Marriage and Legacy of Advocacy

Fans and celebrity friends flooded the post’s comments with love and sweet birthday messages. Actress Jennifer Grey wrote, “Happy birthday, you sly fox! 🦊♥️you” and actress/comedian Ali Wentworth penned, “Happy everything!!!!!!❤️”

Fox also commented on his wife’s post, “Love you sweetheart. I’m not getting older, I’m getting more grateful❤️‍🔥”

Fox was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 1991 and went public with the news in 1998. Two years later, he founded the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, which has since raised over $2 billion to support research efforts, according to CBS News.

The actor has been repeatedly celebrated for his advocacy throughout the years. In 2024, Fox received the Time100 Impact Award for his tireless contributions to Parkinson’s research. During his acceptance speech, he said: “We now know we are dealing with not just a clinical approach to Parkinson’s disease, but a truly biological understanding of its symptoms, progress and clues towards finding a cure sooner than we ever would’ve hoped for.”

Fox’s commitment to his cause and his family has made him an enduring figure in both the entertainment industry and medical advocacy. His longtime friend and fellow board member Ryan Reynolds penned a tribute for Time’s annual issue, writing: “I know Michael J. Fox. Like, I know him pretty damn well… He’s someone who helped my dad, along with millions of others, feel less alone.”

In recent years, Fox has stepped back from acting but remains active through his foundation. With Pollan by his side, he continues to embrace life with gratitude. “Tracy and the kids are amazing,” he told People in a previous interview. “I know that sounds boring, it sounds like a fairy tale, but we’ve been married 30-something years, so we’ve got something figured out.”
