A new Instagram page dedicated to the late beloved actor Malcolm-Jamal Warner is giving those who loved him a place to process their grief.
Warner drowned during a family vacation in Costa Rica July 20 when he was caught in a rip tide.
Nearly three weeks later, his mother Pamela Warner broke her silence to create an Instagram page titled “Malcolm-Jamal Warner Living Legacy,” writing, “This is the official account honoring Malcolm-Jamal Warner, lovingly run by his mother, Pamela Warner.”
The first post on the account showed a picture of her late son looking joyful. Beside it, Pamela wrote, “In the weeks and months ahead, we’ll be sharing updates on the work being done in his memory. Thank you for being here and staying connected.”
Friends, Loved Ones & Fans Pour Out Their Love for Malcolm-Jamal Warner
Since that first post by Pamela Warner on August 7, friends, loved ones and fans have poured out both their grief and love for the late “Cosby Show” actor, mainly through comments on posts.
But one went a step further, making a post of her own on the sight.
In a new post, publicist Jordyn Palos writes that Malcolm-Jamal Warner was not only her client, he changed her life.
Jordyn put up a black and white photo from behind-the-scenes at a photo shoot with Malcolm-Jamal Warner. The actor is sitting on a cement floor, leaning back against a cement-block wall, clearly laughing.
The crew also appears to be laughing, creating a joyous scene.
In the post, Jordyn writes, “This is hard to put into words, today has been extremely difficult. Malcolm-Jamal Warner was so much more than my client – he was a friend, a force, a light. His voice carried wisdom, his presence carried grace, and his work left a cultural imprint few ever achieve. He changed my life and helped me get to where I am today. He poured himself into his craft, his community, and most of all, his family.”
Publicist Says Malcolm-Jamal Warner Is Responsible for Her Career
Jordyn goes on to explain the pivotal role Malcolm-Jamal Warner has played in her life.
She writes, “Malcolm and I began working together in 2011, when he starred in Reed Between the Lines. I was a new publicist and an even newer business owner, still finding my footing. He took a chance on me—arguably a risk—given his decades of acclaimed, award-winning work, while I was just starting out. Those early years representing him taught me so much. He trusted me fully, and that trust gave me the confidence I needed to grow.”
She goes on, “Over the past decade, we shared so many incredible moments—from promoting American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson to celebrating his Grammy win and Best Spoken Word Poetry Album nomination, and most recently, his powerful work on The Residence. Malcolm could do it all—an extraordinary artist, a devoted father, a soul full of purpose. But above all, he led with kindness and love. He was grounded, generous, and fiercely passionate—about his craft, his family, and the legacy he was building. Anyone who knew him was better for it. I hope he felt that.”
Jordyn then expresses what so many have echoed on the tribute site. She writes, “Malcolm’s loss leaves a silence that echoes through so many hearts. He touched countless lives—with his talent, his wisdom, and his warmth. I’m heartbroken today, as so many are. Thank you for taking a chance on me, Malcolm. You changed my life, and you will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to know you. ❤️”
