In an interview on the “Hot & Bothered” podcast in June, Warner reflected on his relationship with his wife and how he knew she was the one for him. “This feels right and this makes sense,” he said. “When people say, ‘When you know you know,’ that’s what that feeling is.” But before this relationship he had dated several other women.

Warner was in a relationship with his “The Cosby Show” costar Michelle Thomas, who played the role of his onscreen girlfriend. The couple dated from 1988 to 1994, People reports. On December 23, 1998, Thomas died of cancer. Despite being her ex, Warner and Thomas had remained close. He flew to be with her before her death, People reports.

Warner was also in a long-term relationship with Karen Malina White, and after their split, he dated actress Regina King. Warner and King were in a relationship from 2011 to 2013, People reports. The actor chose not to discuss the breakup publicly, but there are a few photos taken of them before their relationship, as they had been longtime friends.

The pictures include one taken from the Screen Gems “This Christmas” afterparty in Hollywood, California. The photo was taken on November 12, 2007. Warner and King appeared incredibly happy as they smiled into each other’s faces, and she tenderly placed her hand against his cheek.

As for why they chose not to discuss their relationship publicly? In an October 2011 interview with BET, Warner said, “We like to protect what we have because it’s very special and very precious . . . But I will say that it’s a relationship that makes all the sense in the world.”
