Kristen Bell Spills Dax Shepard’s Hilarious Reaction to Steamy Scene With Adam Brody

A round of applause to those Hollywood couples who know and trust their partners in a heartbeat, despite their rigorous jobs! During a Televerse panel on August 15, 2025, Kristen Bell recounted how her husband, Dax Shepard, and his buddies watched the first episode of “Nobody Wants This.”

Apparently, they all collectively lost it at the steamy kiss she shared with Adam Brody. “I could hear that music in the background and they were screaming,” she quipped, “and he was like, ‘Oh my God!’” She added with pride, “He was so excited for these two characters to kiss, which I think says a lot.”

So yeah, her real-life spouse was more than into it. Just like us! So much so that he sent her a voice memo capturing the cheers, which is both adorable and hilarious.

Kristen Bell & Dax Shepard: The Couple Who Trusts All Things

It’s no secret that the couple has been pretty open when it comes to their love and family life. Bell and Shepard have built their relationship on what she calls “foundational trust.” Despite the occasional on-screen romance, they’re rock solid. “Even if Dax hooks up with the most beautiful person in the world at work, I know he’s committed to our family,” Bell said. “I know he’s coming home… we have a very open communication.”

She laughs even harder about Sheppard’s own flirtatious onscreen moments, saying she was delighted when he had to kiss Minka Kelly on “Parenthood.” “Yes. Get it!” she said, because they know that marriage isn’t a monolith; you have to trust.

Let’s dial back to October 2024, at the New Yorker Festival, when Shepard joked about that kiss. According to Bell, during an eTalk appearance: “My husband said…the first episode he was like, ‘Oh my God, I want you to kiss him so badly.’” But Sheppard had his own take, darkly comedic, of course. He called it “the very best kissing scene ever, ever put on film,” then added the legendary burn. “My best friend, Aaron, … ‘Does she ever kiss you like that?’ No, I didn’t even know she could kiss like that.” So yes, he’s not bitter at all; he’s clearly impressed, and maybe a little shook, just like us!

Seriously, the guy doesn’t just tolerate romance, he roots for it. That raw excitement? That’s a partner who’s secure enough to laugh and cheer, not just endure.

What’s This Show About?

In “Nobody Wants This,” Bell plays Joanne, an agnostic, sex-positive podcaster, who unexpectedly falls for Noah. Noah’s character is purely brilliant, described as a newly single rabbi played by Brody, who is married to Leighton Meester. Their chemistry has lit up the screen and critics, earning Emmy noms for Outstanding Comedy Series and acting nods for both Bell and Brody.

Season 2 has also been confirmed, dropping October 23, 2025. It’ll continue weaving Joanne’s feminist, messy sensibility with Noah’s tradition-obsessed world, while their relationship gets tested by families, routines, and maybe more unexpected kisses. A round of applause for that! Also, fun fact, Meester is also part of the amazing cast, making things more exciting!

Trust, Banter, & Bare-Toed Celebrations

These two built a marriage where Bell is literally being celebrated for kissing a co-star. So much so that even Sheppard celebrated her after she received an Emmy nomination by posting a nearly nude (aside from socks) celebratory picture! That’s comfort, not chaos!

It’s safe to say that acting intimately with someone else on screen could make any marriage awkward, but not theirs. Bell and Shepard model something rare. It’s joy in each other’s careers, playful honesty, and the freedom to be weird and loving in equal measure. Now we need to hear Meester’s side of it too! It’s only right!
