Actress and singer Jennifer Lopez just dropped $18 million on a big, new purchase.

Citing property records, People magazine reported that Lopez purchased a new home near Los Angeles, California, for that amount.

The news about the home purchase comes in the wake of Lopez’s divorce from actor Ben Affleck and as she rebuilds her life. People did not share details about the house beyond the price.

According to People, Lopez has been hunting for a new home since April 2024, when she and Affleck first separated.

At one point, she looked at a property in Beverly Hills, according to People, which noted that it “offered a high level of privacy on a quiet street.” But the home she has purchased was not that property, according to People.

Lopez has been trying to focus on the future and showcases a positive attitude on social media and in interviews since her divorce from Affleck. According to People, the former couple’s $68 million marital home is still for sale, and Affleck purchased his own $20.5 million property after they split.

Lopez has been candid in the media about her life journey and learning from each hardship, including her divorce from Affleck.

In a lengthy interview with Interview magazine, she said, “It’s a lifelong process. I think that’s what I love about life, that there’s no arrival point. There’s only getting better and growing if you want to. It’s either growing or dying, and I don’t want to do the dying part. And yeah, there’s times when I thought I figured it out, and then life goes, ‘Let’s send you another thing and see if you fall for it. Let’s see if you really have learned that lesson.’ And I hadn’t.”

But she struck a positive tone in that article.

“I understand that now in a much deeper way, which doesn’t mean that I won’t make mistakes in the future, but again, when your whole house blows up, you’re standing there in the rubble going, ‘How do I not ever let that happen again?'” she said. “And then you start examining it little by little saying, “Okay, I did this, this was my part in it, this was what I should have seen early on, this is what I didn’t look at.” Those things are what really are the lessons.”
