Harry Potter’ Audiobook Cast Revealed

It’s good news for fans of witchcraft and wizardry: The “Harry Potter” book series is being turned into an audiobook. It’s been 28 years since the first paperback book, “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone,” was released in 1997. The first film in the franchise was released in 2001.

Now, the magical world of “Harry Potter” will have new life breathed into it again!

Who Is Voicing the New ‘Harry Potter’ Audiobooks?

An impressive lineup of stars has signed on for Pottermore Publishing and Audible’s latest project, “Harry Potter: The Full-Cast Audio Editions.” There are seven books to cover, starting with “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” and ending with “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” and over 200 performers will be part of the project, People reports.

The original cast of the films has long grown up, and while fans may be disappointed to learn that Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint will not be voicing their characters, there’s a lot of good news, too!

Frankie Treadway will voice Harry Potter, Max Lester will voice Ron Weasley, and Arabella Staunton will voice Hermione Granger. This is big news for fans because Staunton is also taking on the role of Hermione in the upcoming series adaptation, “Harry Potter.” After book three, these actors will be replaced by Jaxon Knopf, Rhys Mulligan, and Nina Barker-Francis, People reports.

Other highlights of the project include “House” actor Hugh Laurie as Albus Dumbledore and Matthew Macfadyen as Lord Voldemort.

“I’m honored to have been trusted with the keys to Albus Dumbledore, and thrilled to be able to take him around the track of this beautiful incarnation by Pottermore and Audible,” Laurie said of his role, People reports.

Riz Ahmed will voice Professor Snape, and Michelle Gomez will voice Professor McGonagall. There will also be a book narrator, and this role has been given to Cush Jumbo.

When Will the Harry Potter Audiobooks Be Released?

“Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” will be released on November 4, 2025, People reports. Following this audiobook, one book will be released every month until May 12, 2026. “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets” is set for release on December 16, “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban” on January 13, “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire” on February 10, and “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” on March 10.

The final books, “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” and “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” will be released on April 14 and May 12, respectively.

Audible also shared the news of the project with a short video on Instagram on August 5, 2025. The post has given fans a chance to react, and the comments reflect the excitement about the casting. “When you’re so right for the role they cast you twice. Arabella Stanton is THAT girl!!! Can’t wait to listen AND watch her bring Hermione to life,” a comment reads.

“I’m gonna fall in love with Voldemort if he sounds like Mr Darcy,” another fan wrote.

Other reactions include, “HERMIONE SOUNDS ABSOLUTELY PERFECT OMG,” “WE WILL BE LISTENING,” and “this is what I’ve been waiting for!!!!”
