Gigi Hadid Reveals the Must-Have Snack She Had Before the 2025 Met Gala

Gigi Hadid was one of the many celebrities who attended the star-studded Met Gala on May 5, and she shared what she noshed on before the event.

“I woke up, I was with my man,” Hadid told Vogue, referring to her boyfriend Bradley Cooper. “We had a chill morning, some laughs, and then I went to my house.”

The model continued, “I had like an hour by myself, then took a shower, had my fitting, had chicken fingers and fries, then got into glam.”

“I think a little protein in the form of fried chicken helps take down the jitters a little bit,” Hadid explained.

The theme for the 2025 Met Gala was “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” which was a spotlight on Black style, with a focus on menswear.

While Gigi Hadid opted to go for a feminine twist with her custom Miu Miu gown, she gave a nod to the late designer Zelda Wynn Valdes, who made gowns for iconic Black singers like Ella Fitzgerald.

“I’m wearing Miu Miu. It’s a celebration and homage to Miss Zelda Wynn Valdes who was a fashion designer in the late ’40s,” Hadid told Vogue Australia at the Met Gala.

Hadid added, “She grew up working in her uncle’s men’s tailoring shop, and really brought that to her own dressmaking shop in Washington Heights.”

“She really took the art of tailoring that she learned and applied it to the female form, which of course, we’re so inspired still to this day and I think just takes on the essence of Black dandyism, mixing all these different beautiful techniques,” Hadid explained.

One caught the Hadid’s reference to Josephine Baker, who had previously worn a similar dress, and wrote, “Even though it is inspired. Still Gigi Hadid is the winner at #MetGala ……. She is the one who studied hard and appeared for the exam. Rest all came unprepared.”
