George Clooney was not shy about showing his love for wife Amal Clooney on the red carpet ahead of the 2025 Tony Awards.

The brunette beauty and cinema icon were dripping with elegance for their date night. Amal wore a form-fitting dress draped in pearls, while the “Ticket to Paradise” star sported a dashing suit.

George Clooney’s Play ‘Good Night, and Good Luck’ Aired Live from Broadway On June 7

The Los Angeles Times reported that history was made on Saturday, June 7, with the television airing of the play “Good Night, and Good Luck,” which Clooney wrote with his production partner in 2005.

The special event marked the first time a play has been broadcast live from Broadway, according to the story. Broadway.com says the play is a look at “the golden age of broadcast journalism and  golden age of broadcast journalism and Edward R. Murrow’s legendary, history-altering, on-air showdown with Senator Joseph McCarthy.”

The play was inspired by the 2005 film of the same name, which included Robert Downey Jr. on the cast. The thriller pulled in $54 million against its $7 million budget.

Clooney spoke in a red carpet interview ahead of the ceremony for the 2025 Tony Awards about the transformation his looks had to undergo for his Broadway moment.

“It was pretty fun. It was fun to do, and it’s also fun to stop doing it,” he told reporters. “Just to take a break cause it’s been late nights. I did a matinee at 1:00, and I got my hair color back,” he explained.

People reported on Amal Clooney’s reaction to her husband’s switched up hairstyle which saw him transition his locks from his natural gray to a deep, dark shade.

The magazine said Clooney told them the law professor was “the happiest person” when he arrived home from his final performance with a makeover.

“I looked like a drug dealer with that bad black dye job,” said the star. His limited run in the play started March 12 and wrapped up just ahead of the awards show.
