Gabrielle Union Teases ‘Bring It On’ Sequel with Kirsten Dunst

In August 2000, Kirsten Dunst and Gabrielle Union faced against one another on rival cheerleading squads in the hit movie, “Bring It On.” And based on what Union just said, it seems they could be back on the screen soon.

During an appearance on Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live” on March 3, Union teased that a potential sequel could be in the works when responding to a question about the last time she saw Dunst.

“Well, I ran into Kiki a couple of months ago. Our kids are around the same age, and her child goes to school with one of Kaav’s best friends,’ Union said. “So, I see her kind of more regularly, and we, perhaps, maybe all have been working on something.”

That earned a very loud cheer from the audience.

“Bring It On” follows Torrance Shipman, a cheerleader at Rancho Carne High School in San Diego played by Dunst, who is elected as team captain and is looking to lead the team to their sixth consecutive national title. However, she soon learns through a new team member that the Toros have been plagiarizing their cheers from the East Compton Clovers, which is led by Isis, the team captain played by Union.

Gabrielle Union Reveals None of Her Kids Like ‘Bring It On’

When speaking with Andy Cohen on March 3, Union revealed that none of her kids are a fan of her popular movie, “Bring It On.”

“I was hoping one of them would have liked Bring it On,’ she said. And even Cohen admitted that he’s “kind of stunned’ by that.

‘Not a one. Not a one,’ Union responded, and once again, Cohen followed it up by asking if they just “didn’t care for it?.”

“At all! I keep trying, Kaav’s like, ‘Bluey,'” she answered.

Union has one child, Kaavia Wade, with her husband, Dwyane Wade. She is also a stepmother to Wade’s three children, Zaire, Zaya, and Xavier.

Gabrielle Union Spoke About a Possible Sequel on the Sherri Show

On the Sherri Show, host Sherri Shepherd said what every “Bring It On” fan is thinking: We want a sequel.

So, what would that look like exactly?

“Well it would start with Isis getting a double hip replacement,” Union joked during an appearance on February 28. “No, I think we’ve come up with a number of ideas, and perhaps you will see it sooner than later.”

Plus, Union proved that she can still channel the Clovers’ captain, performing one of their hit cheers during this appearance.
