It was a scary moment for Dylan Walsh and his family, but they are all safe after a car accident. The incident took place in Rumson, New Jersey. The “Nip/Tuck” actor, 61, confirmed the news in a statement to People.

“Over the weekend, Dylan Walsh and his family were involved in a car accident in Rumson,” the statement read.
“Thankfully, everyone is safe and has since returned home. The family is deeply grateful for the swift response of the Rumson Police, Fire Department, and EMS, as well as the staff at Riverview Medical Center for their care.”
The statement also included thanks to the management and staff of The River Point Inn “for their support in the immediate aftermath.”
Details From Police & Local Reports

Rumson Police Lt. Christopher Isherwood confirmed to the Rumson Patch that the accident took place on the evening of August 17. Officers determined that a 2022 Ford Explorer with five passengers veered into the southbound lane while traveling northbound on East River Road around 5 p.m.
As per a report in People, the vehicle reportedly struck and broke through one utility pole before colliding with another. Two passengers were transported to Riverview Medical Center with pain complaints following the crash.
Eight residents temporarily lost power as a result, though service was later restored. Jersey Central Power & Light has since replaced the utility poles and reopened the road. The accident remains under investigation, and it is not clear whether Walsh was driving.
Family Speaks Out After Scary Moment
Walsh’s wife, Leslie Bourque-Walsh, acknowledged the incident in a Facebook post that was later deleted but reported by local outlets.
“It was our family who was involved in the car accident on River Road yesterday afternoon. We just want to thank everyone who took care of us in this scary time,” she wrote. She went on to thank the staff at River Point Inn, first responders, and the Riverview Medical Center ER team.
“We are a bit bruised from seatbelts, but grateful for them and airbags, which saved our lives,” she added. “We apologize for anyone who lost power or inconvenience.”
In a follow-up post, she assured friends, “Last night our family was in a pretty bad car accident. We are all ok, and that is all I will share now, except please wear seatbelts and have airbags in your vehicles.”
Walsh’s Career & Family Life
Walsh and Bourque-Walsh share two children: daughter Amelie Belle and son Hudson Scott. The actor is also the dad to Thomas Walsh and Joanna Walsh with ex-wife Melora Walters. It is unclear which of the children was in the vehicle during the crash.
The actor is best known for playing Dr. Sean McNamara in the hit FX drama “Nip/Tuck,” which ran for six seasons from 2003 to 2010. He also starred as Al Burns on “Unforgettable,” General Sam Lane on “Superman & Lois,” and Mayor Peter Chase on “Blue Bloods.”
Despite the frightening ordeal, Walsh and his family are safe and recovering at home.
