Coen Brothers to Remake True Grit

The Coen brothers have adapted the screenplay for True Grit (a 1969 film starring John Wayne and Robert Duvall) and will direct the film which will star Jeff Bridges, Matt Damon, Josh Brolin, Hailee Steinfeld and Barry Pepper. Steven Spielberg will be the executive producer on the project. The story focuses on a young girl (Steinfeld) who hires a drunken U.S. Marshall (Bridges) to track down her father’s killer. Barry Pepper will play “Lucky” Ned Pepper. Probably a distant, fictional relative.
