Chappell Roan loves the single life, but the singer isn’t single anymore. The Grammy Winner recently confirmed she’s been in a relationship for six months. Despite her new romance, Roan says she’s very much “pro single.”
Chappell Roan Says She Is ‘Very in Love’
During an appearance on Alex Cooper’s “Call Her Daddy” podcast, Roan revealed that she has been in a relationship for six months. She said that she met her girlfriend “through a friend” before her career took off. She also noted that things are starting to get “serious,” and she is “very in love.”
“I haven’t dated someone since this all really, really blew up. I’m dating the same person that I was dating before I blew up,” Roan said.
The singer, whose real name is Kayleigh Rose Amstutz, added that the idea of dating someone new is “a nightmare” because of her fame and success — and because of social media. She simply wouldn’t know who to trust.
“I’m not sure how I would date now. I think it would actually be a nightmare. I think I would be so single right now because you’re terrified of their intentions. I’m scared. I don’t trust anyone. I just think in my head, any new person that I’m texting, I’m assuming they will screenshot this and send it to someone else. That’s why I can’t.”
The ‘Pink Pony Club’ Singer Is Still Very ‘Pro Single’
Roan did not share the name of her new girlfriend because she wanted to keep the romance private. She kept all of the juicy details to herself. However, the 27-year-old did say that she is having an “awesome time” in her relationship. But, she is still very much “pro single” because you have to be okay with being alone before you date.
“I am pro-single. Everyone should be single…Find out for yourself if you can 100 percent be okay alone before you date. That’s what I found out. I had a great time when I was single, and I know that I’ll be okay, and now I have an awesome time that I’m with someone,” Roan said.
When she was single and looking, Roan confessed that she was usually the one to “make the first move.” She prefers “weird art girls” who “love to read and are very niche.”
Chappell Roan Revealed She Almost Got Married—Twice
The Missouri native grew up in a small town and scored a record deal at the age of 17. She once told her TikTok followers that she had “almost been married twice.”
Her songs often touch on dating, relationships, and love. And sometimes, she is thinking about her exes when she performs. At the 2024 Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, before singing her hit “My Kink is Karma,” she dedicated the performance to her ex-fiancé.
“How does it feel to become everything you hated, and I became everything I wanted,” she said before the song.
At a later performance, she called out her ex once again.
“I dedicate this song to my ex, who was bragging that they dated me at the bar in my hometown,” she noted. “This is a message for your fiancé: You should break up.”
