Martin Luther King Jr.’s daughter, Bernice King, shared a heartfelt tribute to Malcolm-Jamal Warner. Reflecting on his untimely and tragic passing, she posted a beautiful photo with a message of hope and faith.

Warner’s Mother Speaks Out After His Death
Nearly three weeks after The Cosby Show alum died in an accidental drowning, Malcolm-Jamal Warner’s mother, Pamela Warner, shared a heartbreaking statement about her son’s passing.
“Needless to say, our hearts are heavy with the loss of Malcolm,” she began on Instagram Aug. 8. “He was a kind, loving man with a huge heart for humanity. He wanted all to be aware of their inner strength and that they could succeed, accomplish and transform.”
(Photo by Jason Merritt/Getty Images)Describing the 54-year-old as an “exceptional” man, Pamela continued, “He was not only my son, but also my teacher, coach, confidant, business partner, and best friend. He was the son that his father was immensely proud of and loved fiercely and unconditionally.”
She added, “Malcolm left an indelible mark on the world and on countless hearts. All who met him, however briefly, were better for the encounter. As his mother, there is so much that I can say. It would fill volumes. But what I will say, is that I am so very blessed that he chose me to be his mother, to come into the world through the waters of my womb.”
Honoring His Legacy
In memory of her son, Pamela launched the “Malcolm-Jamal Warner Living Legacy” Instagram page on August 6th.
The account is dedicated to preserving his memory and passion for acting. As she explained, “He was in love with the magic of being an actor, always studying and honing his craft.”
Details of His Tragic Passing

Local authorities confirmed he was pulled farther into the water and was unable to make it back to shore.
Officials said Malcolm’s daughter was present during the beach trip, though only he and a friend entered the sea.
“It was at that moment that they were swept away by the current, and the friend managed to get out,” Costa Rica’s Judicial Investigation Agency said in a July 24 statement to People.
“However, Mr. Warner was unable to get out and was pulled out by several people on the beach. He received care from Red Cross officials but was pronounced dead at the scene.”
