Actor Ben Affleck has opened up about learning line dancing for his new movie, “The Accountant 2.’
According to US Weekly, Affleck spoke about the experience on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at SXSW.
Affleck told the crowd that he spent “months and months” learning line dancing, and added, “It was a stunt for me,” adding, “Tom Cruise has nothing on me… in terms of line dancing,” US Weekly reported.
According to Page Six, Affleck also received support at SXSW from his old pal, Matt Damon. Affleck and Damon were photographed together at the event.

Getty and Entertainment NowAccording to US Weekly, one scene that showed Affleck’s character dancing in front of a mirror was cut.
“There was a nude scene but we cut it. He practiced line dancing in front of the mirror,” director Gavin O’Connor said, according to US Weekly, which noted that Affleck chimed in, “It was a choice! I liked it!”
“Ben’s a hero of mine. I admire him so much, because he’s equal parts beautiful person as he is a beautiful artist,” co-star Jon Bernthal said, according to US Weekly. “Making movies for me is usually knocking my head into a wall; I’m kind of hating myself. But this was very easy. It was very easy to work with him.”
Ben Affleck’s Closeness to Jennifer Garner Has Generated Headlines

Affleck was photographed getting physically affectionate with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner while on a paintballing excursion with their kids, according to Page Six.
However, Garner has been dating businessman John Miller on-and-off since 2018.
People Magazine reported that Garner and Affleck are simply friends who are trying to effectively co-parent their kids. Affleck has been “extra giddy lately, though, and much more affectionate” around Garner, People reported.
A source told People of Garner, “She doesn’t seem to mind. She seems to enjoy spending time with Ben.” The source noted that Garner and Affleck “have been on good terms for a while now and seem to enjoy chatting and hanging out,” People reported, but the source added that the couple’s kids are usually around too.
Page Six reported, though, that Garner is “happy” with Miller and that her “head” is not focusing on a possible reconciliation with Affleck.
