Ben Affleck is looking ahead to the future.

Affleck is “happier than he’s been in years,” a source told Page Six.

The source told Page Six that Affleck has moved on from his divorce with his second wife Jennifer Lopez, revealing that he is “in a much better mood lately” and is “excited” about what lies ahead.

The source’s comments come after Affleck was photographed looking affectionate with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner, who is the mother of his three kids.

However, Garner is dating businessman John Miller, so the couple may just be effectively co-parenting and focusing on a friendship. “They have been on good terms for a while now and seem to enjoy chatting and hanging out,” a source told People of Affleck and Garner. In most cases, when Affleck and Garner are together, their kids are also present, People reported.

But People also noted that Garner is happy in her relationship with Miller, who she has dated off-and-on for years. “She’s doing great,” the source told People. “She loves her new home that she built for her and the kids. John is a fantastic boyfriend. Their relationship is very normal.”

Affleck is not in regular contact with Lopez, Page Six reported. “Ben hasn’t been in regular contact with Jennifer since their divorce unless it revolves around their kids’ school functions,” the source told Page Six.

The source noted that Affleck “has no hard feelings for Jennifer.”

People Magazine also reported that Affleck seems to be in a good mood lately, and part of that is his friendship with Garner.

The actor has been acting “extra giddy lately, though, and much more affectionate,” according to People.

Garner enjoys Affleck’s company, People reported. “She doesn’t seem to mind. She seems to enjoy spending time with Ben,” the source told People.

“When he’s doing well, he has great energy. Right now, Jen has only good things to say about him,” the source added to People of Garner.

“She enjoys spending time with him,” the source told People. “He’s a great dad too. But he also has this dark, struggling side that resurfaces. Over the years, it affected their marriage negatively and caused their divorce.”
