Ana de Armas is in awe of Tom Cruise. Steering clear of all the buzz around her rumored romantic relationship with Cruise, Ana said she’s “grateful” to have Tom Cruise, who is nothing but supportive of her career.
In a conversation with Variety on June 3rd, Ana made rare comments about her equation with Cruise. “You know what, he supports every movie. He really wants the industry and cinema to do well and [wants] people going to the theaters,” de Armas, 37, said, during the premiere of From the “World of John Wick: Ballerina.”
Ana de Armas Hints At Another Collaboration with Tom Cruise
While talking about Cruise, she also added, “We’re working together, so he got to see Ballerina, and he actually really liked it. He loved the John Wick [franchise.]” Anna is currently promoting her latest release, Ballerina, a spinoff of Keanu Reeves’ much-loved John Wick action movie series.
According to a report in PageSix, Cruise had reviewed the film during the May premiere of his latest Mission: Impossible project. “I saw the movie, which kicks a**,” Cruise told reporters. “Oh, man, it’s right in that tone. It’s right in that big world, and you’re gonna love it.”
Cruise And De Armas’ Relationship Timeline
Cruise and de Armas have been linked together for months now, as the duo has often been spotted together, grabbing meals, and spending time together.
A source spoke to US Weekly last month and said, “It’s low-key, still new and in the early stages,”. The source further commented, “Their romance is definitely on the down low.”
According to US Weekly, Cruise and de Armas began bonding, thanks to their mutual friends, including Penélope Cruz. “Penélope put in a good word for her both personally and professionally,” the source said. Cruise, who was in a relationship with Cruz, 51, was together for three years. The couple met while filming “Vanilla Sky” in 2001.
An insider spoke to US Weekly and added that, despite being former partners, they chose to remain friends after their 2004 breakup. Cruz is now happily married to Javier Bardem. She even starred alongside de Armas in 2019’s The Wasp Network.
According to the insider, Cruise and de Armas came on board for a work project, and that’s when things escalated between the two, and sparks flew. “They’ve gone out on some dates and it’s very low-key,” said the source. “It’s in the early stages, and he’s been courting her. … She isn’t looking for anything to move too fast, she’s taking it really slow.”
Ana-Tom Stay Silent Amid Romance Rumors
Cruise or De Armas has never said anything about their link-up. However, Ana did say that it was “so much fun” being around Cruise, which solidified the rumors of them being a couple.
Ana appeared on Good Morning America earlier in May and noted, “It’s so much fun, and we’re definitely working on a lot of things,” de Armas
“Not just one, but a few projects with Doug Liman and Christopher McQuarrie and, of course, Tom. I’m so excited.”
While Cruise is riding high on the success of the latest Mission: Impossible series, he’s also starring in Liman’s currently untitled SpaceX movie.
