WATCH: Melissa McCarthy Returns as Sean Spicer on ‘Saturday Night Live’

After last week’s hilarious sketch starring Melissa McCarthy as Donald Trump press secretary Sean Spicer, the Saturday Night Live team brought the Ghostbusters star back for a second round. The incredible sketch also featured Kate McKinnon as Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

Her Spicer told the audience that he’s making some serious changes, including cutting down on the gun chewing. Clearly though, “Spicey” was still easily angered by the press. He even had to explain what “extreme vetting” is with his “dollies.” She also blasted the media for now covering the Night They Drove Old Dixie Down. The sketch also included McKinnon playing Sessions. (She played Betty DeVos in the previous Sean Spicer interview.) Also, Spicey has now put a Segway in his lectern.

McCarthy’s performance as Spicer was so spot-on that it reportedly made Trump think about replacing him. According to Politico, the White House was “rattled” by her performance, leading to surprising radio silence from Trump on the rest of the SNL episode. “Trump doesn’t like his people to look weak,” a Trump donor told Politico.

At first, Spicer didn’t want to comment on the sketch. “I would much rather have the focus be on the president’s agenda and the success he’s having. That’s all I’m saying on it,” he told Politico. However, he later tried to laugh it off in an interview with Extra.

Spider told Extra that he thought it was “funny,” but that McCarthy “needs to slow down on the gum chewing; way too many pieces in there.” He added that McCathy “could dial back” a bit.

As for Alec Baldwin’s performance as his boss, Spicer told Extra, “Alec has gone from funny to mean, and that’s unfortunate. SNL used to be really funny. There’s a streak of meanness now that they’ve crossed over to mean.”
