Olivia Culpo to Host Netflix’s ‘Next Gen Chef’ This Fall

Olivia Culpo is taking on a brand-new role as the host of Netflix’s upcoming food competition series “Next Gen Chef.”

The actress, model and former Miss USA, 33, announced the news on Thursday, writing on Instagram that she “could not be more excited to be part of this project.”

Inside Netflix’s New Competition Show “Next Gen Chef”

“Food has always been more than just a meal to me… it’s love, comfort, connection, and artistry,” Culpo captioned the post. “Some of my favorite memories are watching cooking shows with my mom, and to this day they’re still how I end every night (the only way I can fall asleep… sorry Christian lol 🫣).”

According to Deadline, “Next Gen Chef” will follow 21 students at the Culinary Institute of America as they face “a rigorous gauntlet of tests to find who is worthy of being crowned the leading chef of the next generation.”

The competition will unfold over eight 45-minute episodes, with high-stakes challenges designed to showcase skill, creativity and resilience in the kitchen.

Culpo added that she was proud to help highlight young talent in the food industry. “This series not only celebrates the passion and creativity of incredible young chefs, but also gives one of them a life-changing prize and platform to soar,” she said. “The competition is FIERCE and I’m so proud to stand alongside such talent and be part of this journey!!”.

Olivia Culpo on Balancing Hosting & Motherhood

The new gig comes just weeks after Culpo and her husband, San Francisco 49ers star Christian McCaffrey, welcomed their first child together. Their daughter, Colette, was born in July.

In March, Culpo spoke to People about her excitement ahead of motherhood. “I’m so excited and grateful to be pregnant. I’ve been dreaming of this for a long time,” she said. “It’s very special.”

She added that McCaffrey was already embracing his role as a father. “He’s so excited. I think he’s gonna really enjoy it and be just the best,” she said.

Culpo has long shared her passion for food with fans. Her family recipes have been featured in publications such as People and Elle, and she often shares cooking content with her followers on TikTok and Instagram. Now, she’s bringing that passion to a national stage, allowing aspiring chefs to shine in front of viewers worldwide.

The unscripted series is slated for release later on September 17, available to stream only on Netflix.
