Inside Taylor Swift & Selena Gomez’s Girls’ Night Out In NYC

It’s been a momentous week for Taylor Swift, who has finally reclaimed ownership of her music catalog. And what better way to mark the milestone than by celebrating with her longtime best friend, Selena Gomez?

On Saturday, May 31, Swift and Gomez were spotted together on a girls’ night out in New York City. The duo dined together at the Monkey Bar in Midtown Manhattan.

Pictures obtained by the Instagram page Deuxmoi showed Swift and Gomez seemingly deep in conversation. The “Cruel Summer” singer appeared animated, with her mouth open mid-reaction as she engaged with Gomez.

Fans React To Taylor Swift & Selena Gomez’s Bestie Date

Swift and Gomez’s latest outing sent their fans into a frenzy. One fan wrote on X, “Taylor and Selena redefining friendship goals,” while another chimed in, “Queens supporting queens, NYC just got brighter!”

Another noted, “I love how they manage to keep their friendship going even after all these years.”

Meanwhile, fans couldn’t help but joke about Swift and Gomez’s expressive exchange, with many finding the moment relatable.

Another added, “Yesss i love when they’re able to get together! Selena always seems to have the best gossip for her.”

A Closer Look At Swift’s Latest Feat

Their latest outing comes just a day after Swift regained control of her song catalog, six years after it was sold to Scooter Braun. On Friday, May 30, the singer announced that she now has the rights to her master recordings.

I almost stopped thinking it could happen, after 20 years of having the carrot dangled and then yanked away. But that’s all in the past now. I’ve been bursting into tears of joy at random intervals ever since I found out that this is really happening. I really get to say these words: All of the music I’ve ever made… now belongs… to me.

In 2019, Braun’s company, Ithaca Holdings, acquired Big Machine Label Group, where Swift recorded her first six albums. Part of the deal was control of the singer’s master recordings for albums “Taylor Swift,” “Fearless,” “Speak Now,” “Red,” “1989,” and “Reputation.” In 2020, Braun sold them to private equity firm Shamrock Capital.

Meanwhile, PEOPLE reported that Scooter Braun was not involved in the sale, despite earlier claims that he had encouraged Shamrock Capital to pursue the deal. A source stated that “there was no outside party” pushing for the transaction, emphasizing that it was Swift’s team who worked hard to close the deal.
