Loads of Swifties celebrated the pop superstar finally purchasing the masters of her first six studio albums in her catalog by throwing a listening party. According to Billboard, they were flooding the digital services to download more of her albums and streaming more of her songs.

On May 31, 2025, the day after Taylor Swift announced that she now owned her music, there was a 55.1% increase in consumption from the average daily activity in the prior 12-day period. According to preliminary data from Luminate, the numbers for May 31, 2025, were even bigger than Friday’s performance for the overall Swift catalog.

Taylor Swift’s Announcement Turned Into Millions of New Streams and Dollars

According to Billboard, it wasn’t just individual songs that were in heavy rotation, but album downloads for Taylor Swift’s music jumped from slightly over 100 units a day to over 5,000. Meanwhile, physical albums improved to averaging just over 4,000 copies for the two days, which is 153.2% greater than the less than 2,000 copies her catalog averaged in the previous period.
