Reneé Rapp Has Zero Filter in Hilarious Interview, & TikTok Loves Every Second of It!

My goodness, leave it to Reneé Rapp to unintentionally break the internet, again.

In a chaotic and laugh-out-loud interview with Ziwe on her YouTube channel, the singer and actress sat down to promote her album, “Snow Angel,” which features her new single, “Bite Me.” But, the interview did more than that after it quickly went viral for something else entirely. Yes, her unfiltered, wildly entertaining answers that had TikTok in a chokehold.

Throughout the interview, Rapp dove into a wide range of topics, including her sexuality, her musical influences, Tory Lanez, her time on Broadway, and, of course, that juicy twist behind “The Sex Lives of College Girls.”

‘You’re THAT B….’

At one point, Ziwe asked, “Why did you leave ‘Sex Lives of College Girls’?” Rapp, completely unbothered, coolly replied, “It was just such a good experience,” in a tone so deadpan it had the internet cackling.

Ziwe followed up with, “The fact that it got cancelled after you left… does it make you feel like you’re that bi*ch?”

Rapp blinked once, twice, three times, answering, “I didn’t know it got cancelled.

Cue the awkward silence, until she cracked a sly smile and proudly declared, “I kinda ate that up! I’m not gonna lie.”

“I was honestly really internally proud of that answer. I was like, ‘I COOKED,’” she added, chuckling, while Ziwe laughed so hard she slouched down in her chair.

But she didn’t stop there.

“Sorry, no. It’s a real tragedy. I wish I could go back,” Rapp said—only to immediately hit Ziwe with a savage: “Nope.” Mic drop.

The internet immediately reacted, with one user saying, “sign a hundred NDAs but I still say something,” one user joked, adding laughing emojis to the end. “Media training has social anxiety around her like it will never happen,” another one noted.

Another one confessed, “This interview just made me like her that much more.” To which, honestly, same!

The Reason Behind the Exit

In case you missed it, Rapp announced her departure from the hit HBO Max series back in July 2023, ahead of Season 3. At the time, she said she wanted to focus on her music career, telling The Cut, “I was so desperate to create my own sound. It took really insane situations.” She made it clear she would become a singer “by any means necessary.”

Later, she opened up more vulnerably on “Call Her Daddy,” revealing that her decision was also deeply personal. “It sucked so bad because at the time I was in a heteronormative relationship,” she said. “I hated going to work, because I felt like I wasn’t good enough to be there. I was so freaked out by the idea of my sexuality not being finite, or people laughing at me—or me laughing at myself—that I hated the first year of filming.”

So yeah, it’s safe to say Rapp was done with the show and needed to prioritize her mental health and authenticity.

Reneé Rapp, an Unapologetic Queen?

Another moment that had TikTok users spiraling? Her response to a question about Tory Lanez. As you probably know, Rapp starred as Regina George in the “Mean Girls” reboot and collaborated with Megan Thee Stallion on the original track “Not My Fault.” When Ziwe brought up Lanez, who was convicted in 2023 for shooting the female rapper in the foot and sentenced to 10 years in prison, she asked Rapp how she felt about recent reports that he had been stabbed in prison.

Without missing a beat, Rapp replied, “I feel like a lot of people get stabbed, and that’s OK. Maybe we should be doing it more. Maybe we should be stabbing more.”

Unhinged? A little. Iconic? Absolutely!

Listen, Rapp has said it herself: she’s unapologetic, outspoken, and totally herself. And judging by the way she casually dominates every room, as well as every social media platform she walks into, it’s clearly working.

So keep being you, Reneé. We’re watching, we’re laughing, and we’re 100% living for it.
