Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne’s decades-long relationship was filled with passion, resilience, and undeniable devotion.
From their first meeting in 1970 to celebrating more than 40 years of marriage, their bond endured fame, family, and personal struggles until Ozzy’s passing in July 2025.
Married in Maui
The legendary Black Sabbath frontman met Sharon when she was just 18 and her father, Don Arden, was managing the band.
Their relationship began professionally but evolved over time. Following Ozzy’s split from his first wife, Thelma Riley, he and Sharon tied the knot on July 4, 1982, in Maui, Hawaii.
Sharon later reflected on that meaningful location, writing on Instagram: “Ozzy and I were married in Maui in 1982. We vacation once a year to Maui, it holds such a special, magical place in our hearts.”
On their 40th anniversary in 2022, Sharon honored their journey in a heartfelt post. “2022 is a special year for me. It marks 40 years of marriage to my darling Ozzy,” she wrote. “We first met when I was 18, over 52 years we have been friends, lovers, husband & wife, grandparents and soulmates. Always at each other’s side. I love you Ozzy.”
A Rock & Roll Wedding
Ozzy and Sharon’s one-of-a-kind wedding remained a source of humor and warmth decades later.
In a TikTok clip from a 2024 episode of “The Osbournes Podcast,” Sharon joked about their wedding, saying, “Our wedding day was very unusual. You got absolutely sh*t-faced,” to which Ozzy responded, “Well, I had a good time, I think.”
The couple’s marriage wasn’t without its challenges. In 2016, they briefly split amid public struggles, but ultimately reunited. “I mean, I wasn’t a saint. Ozzy wasn’t a saint,” Sharon told People in 2022. “I gave him as good as he gave me. We’re just meant to be.”
Ozzy echoed her sentiments, calling their marriage his proudest achievement. “I believe you only have one real love in your life. I’m still in love with my wife,” he said. “That’s the main thing.”
On July 22, 2025—just two weeks after their 43rd anniversary—Ozzy’s family confirmed his death at age 76.
In a statement announcing the passing, the Osbournes said: “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love.”
The couple raised three children together—Aimee, Kelly, and Jack—while Ozzy also had three children from his previous marriage. Despite their challenges, Ozzy and Sharon’s partnership remained one of rock music’s most enduring love stories.
