Ozzy Osbourne’s funeral procession was held in his hometown of Birmingham, England, on Wednesday, July 30. It was an incredibly emotional day for all who loved him, and thousands of fans lined the streets to pay their respects. But it was also a beautiful celebration of his life, with every small detail carefully considered.
A Celebration of Ozzy Osbourne’s Life
Ozzy’s family, including his wife of 43 years, Sharon Osbourne, their children, Aimee, Jack, and Kelly, and Ozzy’s son, Louis, from his first marriage, were photographed visiting a memorial site on Black Sabbath Bridge. It was this location that fans had left tokens of their love and appreciation, including flowers, balloons, pictures, and hand-written notes.

The funeral procession was personalized, with a black hearse carrying the musician’s coffin and purple flowers spelling out the word “Ozzy.” Fans could also be heard chanting his name. Ahead of the hearse was a brass band, Boston Brass. Their music celebrated the Black Sabbath musician as they played “Iron Man,” The Guardian reports.
Footage of the band and the hearse following them was shared on Ozzy Osbourne’s Instagram account on July 31. The post gave fans who were not in attendance a way to feel included and say their final goodbyes. “Ozzy Forever!” the caption on the post reads.
In the comments, fans thanked the Osbournes for allowing them to be a part of this moment. “This was brilliant & brought so much joy to the fans. Thanks to Ozzy’s family for taking him around one last time and making it joyous. Having it live-streamed was so meaningful to us around the globe,” a comment reads.
“This was so giving of his beautiful family in their time of grief. God bless his lovable family,” another fan shared.
