On July 22, 2025, the music world lost an icon when Ozzy Osbourne died at 76. In a statement The Mirror shared, Osbourne’s family said: “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love.” His death comes mere weeks after a memorable final performance on July 5th.
The singer struggled with health issues over the last few years, but bravely fought to keep entertaining fans and being present for his family. In the end, he made the difficult decision to retire from performing due to his declining health. Before the final show, wife Sharon told The Mirror how important it was for him to perform one last time. “Ozzy’s number one thing in life is his fans,” she said. “So he’s working hard to be ready for them, to make this show the perfect way to end things.”
Osbourne Was Diagnosed With Parkinson’s Disease

For several years, Osbourne battled Parkinson’s disease, a degenerative condition that can lead to tremors, stiffness, and other issues with movement and motor function. In February 2025, Sharon told The Sun that the singer was experiencing difficulty walking due to his disease. “It affects different parts of the body and it’s affected his legs,” she said. “But his voice is as good as it’s ever been.”
Despite this challenging situation, Osbourne found a way to look on the bright side. “I have made it to 2025,” the Black Sabbath frontman said. “I can’t walk, but you know what I was thinking over the holidays? For all my complaining, I’m still alive.”
Tributes Came Pouring in From Fans

Osbourne touched untold numbers of people with his musical talents over the years, and social media was immediately flooded with tribute posts at the time of his passing. “One of the greatest rock and rollers of all time has passed. I am glad I got to see Ozzy Osbourne in his prime,” one fan wrote on X. Many others shared their favorite memories of seeing Osbourne in concert during happier times, and the impact his music has had on their lives.
