Lizzo Opens Up About Her Struggles and How She Found Strength Again

Lizzo has never been one to hold back words when it comes to her song lyrics, but the “Truth Hurts” singer recently opened up about the hard time she has been going through — from the harassment claims to bombshell lawsuit — even admitting that she was in such a dark place that she seriously considered giving up on life.

The singer didn’t mince words when talking with Women’s Health, going as far as even asking the question, “You ever get tired of living?” She went on to say that the pain ran so deep that she would find herself thinking at times, “I could die.”

The ‘Renaissance’ Tour Helped Save the Day

While Lizzo did clarify that she never did try to end her before, or even planned to, but the hate did get so loud that it made her start to think. She was thinking that if everyone thought she was so awful, then what was the point of being here at all?

What helped her snap out of the darkness? It was none other than Beyoncé and her “Renaissance” tour. The “Still Bad” singer was scared to go to the concert, as she was convinced the crowd would boo her.

However, it was the complete opposite. She said she was flooded with love and support, and in that moment, she got a spark inside to fight to take her power back.

Taking Back Her Power

Lizzo said the first step toward taking her life back was to detach from her phone. Her social media platforms were put in the hands of her team, and she stopped reading the comments.

That was just the start, as she started letting go of unhealthy relationships and started working with her therapist again. She was also experiencing radiating back pain, which was caused by damaged discs due to her weight.

Even though she has always been proud of her size, she knew she needed to make changes to ease the pain in her life. She started strength training and focusing more on a healthy diet, which has all helped put her at a healthier weight, where she is thriving.

Lizzo Dropped From the Lawsuit

Besides the bombshell lawsuit from her former dancers — Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez — Lizzo also faced another lawsuit. Her ex-stylist, Asha Daniels, filed a lawsuit, claiming Lizzo worked her into the ground with 20-hour shifts some days.

However, a judge ruled in December last year that Lizzo would be dropped from the lawsuit. The judge said Lizzo could not be sued as an individual, but her touring company could still be held responsible.
