Singer-songwriter Julia Michaels is behind many hits and her collaborations with Selena Gomez are no exemption.
Michaels made a stop at the “Zach Sang Show” and gave fans insight as to what it’s like working with Gomez.
Julia Michaels Talks About Working with Selena Gomez
When asked if she was nervous walking into the session for Gomez’s “Call Me When You Break Up”, Michaels shared she was.
“Yeah,” she said, “I mean, always, especially with Selena, because we’ve done, you know, ‘Good For You’ and ‘Hands To Myself’ and ‘Lose You To Love Me’ like we’ve done–I’ve had more number ones with Selena than I have anybody else. And so yeah, even when I’m with her, I’m like, ‘Are we going to do this again? Should we just, like, eat nachos and, like call it a day? Like, oh no,’” Michaels said as she imitated a shaky nervous voice. “but yeah, always, I always have this, like, fear that I’m not gonna be able to deliver what they expect of me. And I think it’s… more of an internal thing.”
Fans took to the comments section to show some love to the “Issues” singer.
“She always is going to deliver, they both are like the best duo ever!,” one fan shared.
“Julia ALWAYS hits it out of the park,” another fan commented.
Julia Michaels’ Latest Music
Michaels’ new six-track Ep, “Second Self”, was released on May 23. Her latest musical body of work includes one feature, “Scissors”, with Marren Morris. The single was released in January along with the music video.
Fans took to the comments section to share their excitement for the song.
“OMG, this is such a relatable song about relationships & specifically how I feel about them Julia & Maren. ‘If you wanna cut ties, I’ll get the scissors’ is so relatable. Great collaboration, thank you!” one fan shared.
“Julia Michaels is just on her own level!!” another fan shared. “Her songwriting, vocals, and musicality are just on another planet!!”
As the singer told Rolling Stones, the album features vulnerable tracks.
“These songs are raw, unfiltered, and some are way too specific,” Michaels told Rolling Stone. “Some are fun and lighthearted and some are a bit more in your face. I’ve loved these songs for months, years and [they] have held such a special place in my heart. I’m excited to be able to share them with my fans. It’s [songs] they can dance to or scream at an ex to.”
