Jennifer Lopez leaves her honey brown locks behind and embodies a blonde bombshell in the just-released teaser trailer for her upcoming movie, “Kiss of the Spider Woman.”
The A-lister shared the preview on her Instagram in a June 5, 2025 post.
New Jennifer Lopez Movie Is Coming Fall 2025
The project will hit theaters on October 10, 2025 according to the caption. The post also says Jennifer Lopez is joined on the cast by Diego Luna and Tonatiuh. The director is Bill Condon, who also directed “Dreamgirls” which famously got Jennifer Hudson an Oscar.
The teaser trailer reveals that Deadline’s Pete Hammond called her part as Ingrid Luna “the role Jennifer Lopez was born to play,” and bills the film as “a love letter” to the stage musical on which it is based.
Lopez looks dramatically different as she transforms into her character by wearing a loosely sculpted blonde bob and bright red lips.
The plot features a prisoner in an Argentinian military lockup who entertains his cellmate with tales of his favorite actress and her musicals, according to Deadline.
Lopez’s followers have high hopes that this could be her shot at an Oscar nom after her “Hustlers” snub back in 2020.
One fan enthusiastically predicted, “And the 2026 Oscar for Best Supporting Actress goes to… Jennifer Lopez!”
Another wrote, “This could be the movie that Jennifer will receive an Oscar nomination. It looks dazzling.”
In her 2022 documentary “Halftime,” Lopez admitted failing to receive a nomination for “Hustlers” hurt.
“I had to ask myself, ‘What does that mean?’ I do this not for an award or do my hits up there and seem like I’m the best performer in the world,” she said. She said her choice way of responding to the loss was to “keep working.”

The “On The Floor” singer has stayed as busy as ever since her January 2025 divorce from longtime on-off flame Ben Affleck. The mother of two is fresh off her hosting gig at the AMAs as she takes social media by storm with the dazzling new “Kiss of the Spider Woman” teaser.
Lopez is also gearing up to celebrate Pride Month with a special appearance. She captioned a June 4 Instagram post, “It’s always calm right before the sun comes out…but that won’t last! I cannot wait to see you all @worldpridemusicfestival Friday.” The double threat entertainer capped off the excited post with sparkle and rainbow emojis.
And “Kiss of the Spider Woman” isn’t the only on-camera creation Lopez has in the works. Deadline announced in September 2024 that she would star in the Netflix movie “Office Romance” with Brett Goldstein of “Ted Lasso” fame.
