As Priscilla explained to Vogue in 2022, buying her wedding dress was a bit of an unusual experience. Charlie Hodge, a member of Elvis’ team, went with her to go dress-shopping in an effort to keep the upcoming nuptials under wraps. “This was such a well kept secret because we wanted it to be our wedding, with our friends, and not to be loaded with paparazzi,” she said. Priscilla also shared that part of the dress’ appeal was how well it complemented Elvis’ suit.
The Wedding Ceremony Was Surprisingly Small

Celebrity weddings are often lavish affairs, but the Presleys’ ceremony was surprisingly intimate. As Vogue reported, only fourteen people attended their actual wedding, and the ceremony took just eight minutes.

However, the post-ceremony festivities were another story. Elvis’ manager, Colonel Tom Parker, arranged a champagne breakfast for a hundred guests, which generated plenty of interest in the press. One of the most stunning aspects of this reception was the couple’s wedding cake, which stood at five feet tall and had six tiers adorned with flowers.
Elvis and Priscilla Had a California Honeymoon

Being the king of rock and roll kept Elvis very busy, so he and Priscilla didn’t go far for their honeymoon. The two retreated to a stunning home in Palm Springs, California. A 2010 house tour showcases a plaque outside the house commemorating the occasion.
Exactly nine months after their wedding day, the couple welcomed their daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, thus ushering in the next generation of music royalty. Although they were only married for six years, their relationship remains one of the most memorable in the history of the music world.
