Billboard reported on August 7, 2025, that Britney Spears‘ ex-husband and the father of her two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden, is preparing to release what they call “an extremely intimate and transparent” tell-all memoir. Kevin Federline is calling his book “You Thought You Knew,” per the report.
The book, which drops October 21, is being billed as the first time the former dancer will open up publicly about “the events, relationships and realities that have defined his life.”
Now, Spears’ most recent ex-husband, Sam Asghari, is reacting with his thoughts about Federline’s book. Read on to see what he said.
Sam Asghari Called Kevin Federline ‘A Professional Father’
In a brief clip in which he chatted with TMZ around August 16, the fitness influencer was asked for his thoughts on Federline’s new tell-all book. He replied, “What’s he gonna tell? He was a professional father, so he would be a great – it’ll be the first book that’ll tell you how to be a professional father.”
The 31-year-old grinned before telling the outlet he hasrecently been on set filming for “something very special.” He also revealed that things are currently “amazing” with his girlfriend, real estate agent Brooke Irvin. Asghari was married to Spears from June 2022 until May 2024, when the pair finalized their divorce. The former couple met on the set of Spears’ “Slumber Party” music video in 2016, per People.
Friend of Kevin Federline Said Tell-All Book Is ‘Not Meant to Wound Anyone’
On August 16, Federline took to his Instagram Stories to repost a lengthy statement about his forthcoming memoir written by his friend, Hawaiian news host Ryan Kalei, which insisted the book’s intention is not malicious.
Federline’s friend began, “I’ve watched Kevin stay silent while the whole world picked him apart. I’ve seen the toll it’s taken on him and his family as lies spread unchecked, all while he chose not to defend himself.”
Kalei went on to say the 47-year-old has steered away from negativity, and instead, “poured himself into being a father, showing up for his kids, giving them stability, and protecting their peace in the middle of chaos.”
The next part of the post addressed Federline’s book, saying, “This isn’t a tell-all meant to wound anyone. It’s Kevin finally allowing himself the chance to share his truth after years of being misrepresented. He deserves that. His family deserves that.”
Kalei finished his post by asking onlookers not to judge or “assume you already know the story,” before imploring people to “read with an open mind.” He added, “I’ve seen firsthand how love and sacrifice has provided the stability and normalcy this family deserves.”
Federline currently doesn’t have much content visible on his Instagram profile. His only post is a photo of himself with his wife, Victoria Prince, whom he married in 2013.
