Brett Young Reveals Health Decision He Made To Embrace ‘New Chapter’ in Life

Country music singer Brett Young made a health decision a year ago that has changed his life for the better. In an appearance on the Today Show, published on June 25, the “In Case You Didn’t Know” singer revealed that he quit drinking, which started him on a transformative journey.

“It’s a new chapter in my life,” he said on the Today Show. “I’ve jumped really deep into health and wellness and trying to hang around longer for my family. It’s kind of like Brett Young 2.0 at the same time.”

The decision has been impactful on Young’s life, as well as on his family, and he had his children in mind when deciding to change his lifestyle. He is a father to two daughters, Presley and Rowan, whom he shares with his wife, Taylor Mills Young.

On the Today Show, Young detailed the changes in his mindset as he began to live differently. “It started with alcohol,” he said. “We cut that out at the beginning of last year. Mornings with babies were not feeling great. It wasn’t serving me, my life or my career, so we cut that out.”

He continued, “And then I just started thinking, ‘Well, what else can we do to start hanging around longer for the kiddos?’ There’s a lot of information available to us. I went down that rabbit hole and I’ve just been chasing it ever since.”

Brett Young Reveals the Impact of Fatherhood

It has been a good year for Young, who recently performed at the CMA Fest 2025 and also released his new album “2.0” last week. He shared more about the name he chose for the album in a video clip posted on Instagram on June 14. “I spent the last little over a year and a half kind of reinventing myself, redefining what I’m trying to accomplish not only with my career but with my life, prioritizing family while also being on the road,” he said. He also echoed the words he made on the Today Show, saying, “It’s just kind of a new chapter.”

His wife reacted to the post with a message of support. “SO proud of you. You have worked so hard,” she wrote. “You are so talented, and I can’t wait for the world to hear! The best one yet!! Love you.”

The couple is dedicated to their family, and Young posts photos and videos of his loved ones on Instagram, giving fans a glimpse into their lives. In a post from April 23, he shared several pictures of himself and his kids, discussing how hard it was to be away from them in the caption. “Getting more and more difficult being away from these babies,” he wrote. “We have been having fun and getting creative, exchanging videos when daddy is on the road.”
