It looks like the Simpson sisters are back for good! Months after Jessica Simpson revealed she was working on new music, followed by a new single and several performances, younger sister Ashlee Simpson Ross is following in her footsteps.
The 2000s pop star announced her return to the music world with a series of special live shows. The 40-year-old teased her long-awaited comeback by clearing her Instagram feed, deleting all previous content to make room for the “new her.”
“I’m so excited to take the stage in such a stunning space like Voltaire and have the opportunity to perform up close and personal with my fans,” she shared alongside a black-and-white photo of herself. “We’re working so hard to make this show feel personal and special, so I can’t wait to share this experience and connect with the audience in such a perfect setting. This is the beginning.”
Ahlee Simpson Limited Shows at Voltaire in Las Vegas
Simpson will be heading to Las Vegas for a limited run at the Venetian Resort’s Voltaire venue with her “I Am Me” show. Capitalizing on the Labor Day weekend, she will perform on August 29 and 30.
As expected, fans and fellow musicians were ecstatic over the announcement, welcoming her back to the stage.
“Anhhh congratssss. I’m definitely coming to see you!! 🔥,” one user commented.
“‘This is the beginning’ Yaaaasssss!!! If it brings you joy… come back!!! You do YOU and keep going!!!! 🥰🥰🥰,” another wrote.
“SCRAMING CRYING THROWING UP I NEED TO GO OMG,” a fan exclaimed.
Simpson is expected to perform some of her greatest hits, including her iconic tracks “La La” and “Pieces of Me.” Last year marked the 20th anniversary of her debut album, “Autobiography,” and this October her sophomore album, “I Am Me,” will also celebrate its 20th anniversary.
In 2008, she released her third studio album, “Bittersweet World,” and later teamed up with husband Evan Ross for the collaborative EP “Ashlee + Evan.” The couple also starred in a reality series of the same name on E!, which followed their personal lives and careers.
More to Come?
As of now, Simpson hasn’t released or announced any new music. Still, fans remain hopeful that this marks the beginning of a larger musical comeback, possibly even a full Vegas residency.
Speaking with Variety about the upcoming shows, Simpson said, “I’ve been holding onto this news for a while, and I’m beyond thrilled to finally share it — I’m hitting the stage in Vegas. Music has always been the place where I feel the most alive, and I’m looking forward to sharing that energy with you all. I’m so grateful for my fans who have supported me throughout my entire career. Let’s make these shows unforgettable!”
Tickets for Ashlee Simpson Ross’ “I Am Me” shows are now available for general sale at voltairelv.com, starting at $65.
