Adam Larson may have walked away from “The Challenge: All Stars” as a champion, but he didn’t stop there. During the April 16 season finale of “All Stars: Rivals,” Larson, 46, capped off his $250,000 win with an even bigger reveal: he proposed to girlfriend and fellow “Challenge” alum Averey Tressler—right on screen.
The couple met while filming season 4 of “All Stars” and built a life together off-camera. And now, they’re officially planning a future together.
A Surprise Proposal on ‘The Challenge’ and a Tweeted ‘Yes!’
After winning the final alongside Steve Meinke and choosing to split the grand prize rather than steal it, Larson used his last confessional to turn a long-running inside joke with Tressler into a moment to remember.
“First thing I’m going to do, and obviously Averey, if you’re seeing this right now, you might want to look to the left or right to make sure I’m on a knee,” he said to the camera. “And so, babe, wherever I am in the room right now, what do you say? Will you marry me?”
Tressler didn’t leave fans waiting long. She live-tweeted during the finale, writing, “I Said Yes!!!” just minutes after the scene aired. Moments before, she teased the moment with a post on X: “OH. MY. GOD. Is this real life right now?! #shook #unreal.”
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Larson revealed that while the proposal was part of a bigger plan, he hadn’t expected the emotional confessional to air. “I did not know that they were going to air those kind things I said about Aves,” he shared. “We already had something planned, which we’re going to keep between Averey and I. However, she is my everything, and I’ve asked her to marry me about a thousand times.”
Adam and Averey’s Complete Relationship Timeline
Larson and Tressler’s relationship began long after the cameras stopped rolling. Though they met during filming in early 2023, they didn’t begin dating until months later—after Larson ended a previous relationship.
“We just kept talking and just being friends,” Tressler told In Touch. “One of his daughters came up to me on the phone and told me her dad had a crush on me… And the girls are really proud of that one.”
Tressler lives in South Carolina with Larson and his two daughters, Hunter and Harlow. “She is the girls’ mom,” Larson told Entertainment Weekly. “She jokes that she’s going to ask me to marry her, to the girls.”
Tressler, 34, is adjusting to family life and embracing her new role. “I never thought I’d date a guy with two children, but here I am,” she shared. “Everybody’s thriving and it kind of just feels natural and very in sync.”
The couple has leaned into this next chapter with humor, love, and a strong sense of partnership. And while Tressler didn’t make it to the final that season—she and Larson were eliminated just before the last challenge—she walked away with something even better: a second shot at reality TV, a new home, and now, a fiancé.
Reflecting on their time together, Larson said, “When I left with Aves, I won.”
As for wedding planning, Larson admits he’s trying to balance a family-focused moment and a big romantic gesture. “I want to do something absolutely amazing for [her], and so I don’t want to cheapen the proposal at all,” he said. “Which is why I’m kind of thinking of doing both.”
