Three years after first meeting Riri Williams in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” we finally get to dive into her story in the Marvel+ series “Ironheart.” After the brilliant MIT student was rescued from Namor by the Wakandans, she created an Iron Man-type of suit to help them fight back. When she returned to MIT, she left the suit behind.
The series begins with Williams back in her hometown of Chicago, trying to figure out what to do next. Williams questions whether Parker Robbins’ new persona ‘The Hood’ and his heists are more “Ocean’s Eleven” or ‘The Sopranos.” She decides to create a new armored suit to take him on.

The series features Alden Ehrenreich, Lyric Ross, Anji White, Matthew Elam, Jalen Merrell, Zoe Terakes, and Manny Montana. Anthony Ramos plays The Hood, along with Dominique Thorne as Williams. Kevin Feige, Ryan Coogler, and Zinzi Coogler are among the executive producers.
“Ironheart” is the last piece of Marvel’s Phase 5, which began with “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” on February 17, 2023. For details on when and how to watch “Ironheart,” read on.
What is Marvel’s ‘Ironheart’ About?
Riri Williams is a genius inventor, and after creating a vibranium detector in “Wakanda Forever,” she ended up on the radar of Namor, as well as the Wakandan people. After making her first armored suit prototype to help the Wakandans, she’s determined to build another one. When she returns to Chicago after being kicked out of MIT, she takes the suit she’s been building with her. This is where “Ironheart” begins.
Williams is invited to work with The Hood doing heists, with the promise of making the money she needs to rebuild her suit. The Hood gets his name from the magical hooded cloak he wears, and he is struggling with the demonic repercussions of wearing it. When an event occurs that pits them against each other, Williams makes it her mission to take him down.
