Mark Ruffalo Gushes Over His Wife as They Celebrate 25th Anniversary

Is there anything more beautiful than a man in love? It’s even more heartwarming when it includes honoring the woman in his life. ‘Marvel’ actor Mark Ruffalo just hit a significant milestone—25 years of marriage. He celebrated the special day by honoring it with deep love and gratitude for his wife.

On Wednesday, June 11, the “Hulk” actor, 57, took to Instagram to share a touching tribute to his wife, Sunrise Coigney, in celebration of their silver anniversary.

Mark Ruffalo’s Heartfelt Message For Wife Sunrise

Alongside a series of photos from their journey together, Ruffalo wrote: “Happy 25th Anniversary, Sunrise, my love and partner and friend,” He added, “We gone up and got down, got in and get off, laughed when it was lousy, grew gardens with our tears, danced through fears and trudged and skipped through the years, and with every tussle we hung tough with our love and our exquisite touch.”

“It’s not always been pretty, but it’s always been beautiful,” he continued. “These two imperfect lovers holding on all along. Diamond girl, my diamond girl, would you be mine for the next twenty-five?”

The message wasn’t just a celebration—it was a reflection—a tribute to every high and low, every laugh and every scar that made their bond stronger.

Mark and Sunrise’s Love Story in Photos

Ruffalo paired his emotional note with a carousel of romantic images spanning the decades. The first photo, a throwback of the couple in their younger days, featured his words scrawled across the top:

“25 years of everything god or devil had to give and still going strong. Grateful and humbled. Thank you, lover for it all.”

Other snapshots showed the couple kissing on a sunlit beach, relaxing in bed with a sweet forehead kiss, embracing in a bathroom mirror selfie, and beaming with their kids on a boat in a lake. The photos captured real love—the kind that survives time, change, and life.

From a Garage to Forever: Mark Shares How It All Began

Mark Ruffalo and Sunrise’s love story began in 1998 in Los Angeles, and just two years later, in June 2000, they tied the knot.

In a 2017 Men’s Journal interview, Ruffalo remembered the moment he knew:

“I saw her and was like, I’m going to marry that girl. I was living in a converted garage, and she was there for that, she was game. She believed in me.”

Sunrise didn’t just fall in love with the man—she believed in the dreamer.

Mark Ruffalo On Balancing Family and Fame

At his Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony in February 2024, Ruffalo opened up to PEOPLE about the unique pressures their relationship has faced:

“It’s not easy being married to an actor and being the children of an actor. I’m away a lot. This whole thing is distorting and difficult.”

Just a few months before their anniversary, Ruffalo celebrated Sunrise’s 52nd birthday in September 2024 with another heartfelt Instagram post:

“Happy Birthday you magical being,” he wrote. “You only get better with each passing year. Now the real fun starts. We love you. Us.”

To which Sunrise replied simply in the comments: “l love you. Thank you.”

Mark Ruffalo and his wife, Sunrise Coigney, are proud parents to three children: Keen, born in 2001, Bella Noche in 2005, and Odette in 2007.

Through the years, fame and family collided—but love always remained the anchor.
