The elimination of Cierra Ortega on “Love Island: USA” season 7 has left fans of the show buzzing. Now, fellow eliminated contestant Zak Srakaew is sharing with fans exactly what they were told regarding Ortega’s exit during day 26 of the show.
Zak’s Time on ‘Love Island: USA’
To bring you up to date, Zak joined the show during the infamous Casa Amor twist. During his time on “Love Island: USA,” he coupled up with Olandria Carthen and Amaya Espinal.
However, Zak found himself on the short end of the stick during the recoupling ceremony on day 26. Olandria chose Nic Vansteenberghe and Amaya chose Bryan Arenales, which meant Zak was sent home alongside Elan Bibas. Now that Zak is back at home, the 29-year-old international model has been spending a lot of time on social media, especially his TikTok page. He recently did a live stream on TikTok, answering a bunch of questions from fans of the show, including one everyone has been wondering: “How did Cierra leave?”
Cierra Ortega Exits the Show

While Cierra had a strong, closed-off coupling with Nic, she was abruptly removed from “Love Island: USA” on day 26. This took place after people outside of the villa found old Instagram posts where she was using an anti-Asian slur on numerous occasions.
As an Asian man, Zak felt inclined to speak up about the situation, telling viewers of his live stream what really went down on the show.
While starting the answer by saying he “can’t really say” what happened, he then proceeded to share details with his followers. He said: “When Cierra left, they gathered us all together — the producers gathered us all together — and then they said, ‘Unfortunately, Cierra has broken some of the policies of our guidelines. She’ll no longer be here in the villa, and that’s the only information we can give you guys.'”
Cierra was removed from the show, but the other contestants “didn’t really know what was going on” because that’s all the producers told them, Zak added. He did mention that the show did offer counseling to anyone who wanted to speak to someone regarding their feelings about her abrupt removal.
Since Nic and Cierra were basically coupled up since day two, Zak said: “Nic was really upset that she left, but at the same time, he couldn’t really be super upset. He couldn’t express how he feels about the situation until he found out what she’s done or what she’s said.”
Zak wrapped up his answer by saying: “At end of the day, as much as you want to feel sorry for somebody, if you know they got removed from a show for saying something offensive, you can’t really feel sorry for them until you know what it is.”
Nic Seems To Have Moved Past It
While Zak said Nic was “really upset” after Cierra left the show, it appears Nic has moved past it quickly. He is now pursuing a relationship with Olandria, whom he has shown interest in since day one.
Will they leave the villa together and win the $100,000? We will find out soon, as the final episodes of “Love Island: USA” air this week, with the season 7 finale airing on Sunday, July 13, on Peacock and the premiere of “Love Island: Beyond the Villa” premiering the same day.
