Is Cierra Ortega Still on Love Island USA?

After a lot of controversy surrounding Cierra Ortega, it seems Love Island USA has decided to remove the 25-year-old content creator from the show. Narrator Iain Stirling announced, “Cierra has left the villa due to personal reasons,” during the episode that aired Sunday, July 6.

Ortega was a fan favorite throughout the season until a social media post resurfaced. She has been coupled up with Nic Vansteenberghe, and the two closed things off after Casa Amor.

Earlier this season, Yulissa Escobar, who entered the Villa as one of the first five girls, was also kicked off the show.

Nic Vansteenberghe Reacts to Cierra Leaving

Nic Vansteenberg said he was confused by the producer’s decision, but ultimately decided to stay in the Villa.

“Right before Cierra had left, my mind was clear. I knew what the future would look like and now I’m lost,” he said during the episode. “Well, I think now that my strongest connection has gone there’s like, you know, I’ll just figure it out from here.”

He is now single, and the expectation is that he will explore his connection with Olandria Carthen.

“Ever since Cierra has been here, it has been y’all’s journey, it’s never really just been about Nic’s journey,” Olandria said in a conversation with Nic after Cierra left. “You always considered the person you were in a couple with. However I could be there for you in this time of need, I could do that. Whatever that looks like for you.”

“I just really feel like you have, like my back. And when I think about, like, a girl in here who I have been enjoying my time with and who I’m comfortable with and, like, who I’m attracted to… that person would be you,” Nic responded.

Cierra Ortega’s Parents Release a Statement

Following her exit from Love Island USA, Cierra’s parents released a statement on her Instagram story.

“As Cierra’s parents, this has been one of the most painful weeks of our lives,” they wrote. “We’ve seen the posts, the headlines, the hurt, and the hate. And while Cierra hasn’t seen any of it yet, we have. And so have the people who love her.

“We’re not here to justify or ignore what’s surfaced. We understand why people are upset, and we know accountability matters. But what’s happening online right now has gone far beyond that.

“The threats. The cruel messages. The attacks on her family, her friends, even her supporters, it’s heartbreaking. It’s uncalled for. And no one deserves that kind of hate, no matter what mistake they’ve made.

“While Cierra is not in the villa anymore, she is still away. She hasn’t had the chance to process any of this or speak for herself. But we know our daughter. We know her heart. And when she returns, we believe she’ll face this with honesty, growth, and grace.

“While she’ll always be out little girl, she’s also a woman, one who will take responsibility in her own time and her own voice.

“Until then, we’re simply asking for compassion. For patience. For basic human decency. Not just for her, but for everyone caught in the middle of this.

“Thank you to those who’ve continued to show love, even when it’s not easy,” they concluded. “With love, Her family.”
