Inside the Mega-Yacht Oprah, Gayle & Kris Are Cruising On
The yacht that Oprah Winfrey, Gayle King, and Kris Jenner are presumably enjoying during their Mallorca getaway is no ordinary vessel.
It’s a 454-foot superyacht built initially in 2004 for Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison. Media mogul David Geffen first bought a partial stake in the yacht in 2006 before taking full ownership in 2010.
Complete with 82 rooms, the floating palace features jaw-dropping amenities, including a gym, basketball court, wine cellar, and a movie theater.
Geffen, who began his career in 1964 in the William Morris Agency mailroom, quickly rose through the ranks to co-found Asylum Records in 1971. There, he helped shape the careers of legends like Joni Mitchell, The Eagles, and Linda Ronstadt. He later launched Geffen Records, Geffen Pictures, and co-founded DreamWorks.
As of 2025, he ranks #343 on Forbes’ list of billionaires. His empire includes an extensive art and real estate collection, notably a $54 million Upper East Side penthouse in New York City.
