Sculpt Your Way to a Dreamy Jawline: SKIMS Launches Face Wraps

In case you haven’t been keeping up with Kim Kardashian and her SKIMS shaping brand, there’s a lot to catch you up on. This past year has seen the company strike a deal with Nike, League One Volleyball (LOVB), add her SKKN skincare line under the SKIMS umbrella, and open its first store in Palm Beach County, Florida.

But SKIMS has also continued to inspire conversation with its one-of-a-kind items. While you may not have been able to get anything from its Swarovski-crystal or Roberto Cavalli shape and swimwear before they sold out, there’s a brand new item available: shapewear for your face.

SKIMS’ Seamless Sculpt Face Wraps Spark Intrigue and Skepticism

“Our first-ever face innovation is here,” the tagline reads for the Seamless Sculpt Face Wraps. “This must-have face wrap boasts our signature sculpting fabric and features collagen yarns for ultra-soft jaw support. Velcro closures at the top and nape of the neck allow for easy, everyday wear.”

For $48, the wrap is meant to shape and sculpt your face. It comes in two colors: cocoa and clay. As of July 29, both colors are sold out, but interested customers can join the product’s waitlist.

On SKIMS’ Instagram post, many were skeptical but intrigued.

“I’d love to know more about the “collagen yarns” because the website says it’s only nylon and spandex,” wrote one comment. Another joked, “What in the Hannibal is this?” a reference to its similarity to the mask worn in “The Silence of the Lambs.”

Others wanted it, despite planning to use it for other reasons, such as TMJ (temporomandibular joint) pain. “I imagine this helps with jaw issues like Tmj or something similar to keep your jaw in place overnight. I’d like to try it,” one person wrote.

“No but legit, I have a connective tissue disorder that caused TMJ and my jaw recesses at night which causes mouth breathing + allergies so I am actually stoked for this!” commented another.

SKIMS Continues to Push Fashion Boundaries

While this is the first product SKIMS has made for the face, the company has dropped several other ‘unique’ products over the past six months. Who can forget Kim’s ‘Fairy Butt Mother’ video in February? The Ultimate Butt Enhancing line of padded shorts, leggings, and bodysuits was meant to create a “bigger, rounder, perkier” butt.

Four months later, the brand launched Hip Enhancing Padded Shorts. Described as compression shorts meant to create “a fuller hip shape and hourglass figure while accentuating your curves.”

Kim’s Face Wraps may not be a hit with everyone, but considering it’s already sold out, it doesn’t matter.
