Kim Kardashian and Kanye Support North in New Episode of ‘The Kardashians’

On February 20, Season 6, Episode 3 of “The Kardashians” dropped, returning to North West’s May 2024 performance of “Disney’s The Lion King at the Hollywood Bowl.” While much has transpired in the months since it was filmed, it was still refreshing to see Kim Kardashian and ex-husband Kanye West unite to support their oldest daughter.

The Former Couple Put Aside Their Issues For Their Child

“Kanye and I want the best for the kids. And so, anytime we’re here supporting our child, it’s always good vibes,” Kardashian said in the episode, as the scene shifted to Kardashian on one side of North and Kanye on the other, as they formed a prayer circle before North’s performance. Kardashian also acknowledged how involved Kanye got when he came to the rehearsal — to the point that he asked if he could change the graphics for the show.

After North’s performance, Kanye tells Kardashian, “It was so good,” when she asks what he thought. She admits that she doesn’t know when he asks her the same. “I was just crying from the side,” she replies before ushering the kids along with their dad while she goes to give North flowers. Their exchange was friendly, a testament to the positive undercurrent she claimed existed between them regarding their children.

This Isn’t the First Time They’ve Played Nice for the Kids

We’ve seen plenty of public disagreements concerning Kardashian and Kanye, such as when TMZ reported an Instagram post Kanye made demanding she take their kids out of school. Yet, through it all, Kardashian has repeatedly shown that protecting her kids’ relationship with their father is a priority. A few months before North performed at the Hollywood Bowl, Kardashian and Kanye were photographed at their son Saint’s basketball game. TMZ even posted pictures of the two smiling for fan photos. Kardashian was also at the Rolling Loud music festival, supporting North as she rapped on Kanye’s song “Talking” during his set.

But not every interaction between the two has been sunny. They’ve both shown up at many of Saint’s basketball games and often, there’s absolutely no interaction between them. During one incident, they sat separately as they watched their son’s game, barely speaking. Even so, Kardashian is determined to protect the relationship her kids have with Kanye, telling Angie Martinez’s IRL Podcast, “If we’re riding to school and they want to listen to their dad’s music, no matter what we’re going through no matter what is happening in the world, I have to have that smile on my face, and blast his music and sing along with my kids, and act like nothing’s wrong.”
