Khloé Kardashian is pushing back against critics who shame parents for seeking support while raising children.
During a recent episode of her podcast, “Khloé in Wonder Land,” the 41-year-old reality star and entrepreneur addressed the stigma surrounding nannies and child care assistance — a topic that resonated with many working parents.
Khloé Kardashian Defends Hiring Nannies & Parenting Support
In a teaser clip shared to Instagram, Kardashian reflected on the emotional weight of motherhood.
“Mom guilt is definitely real,” she said. “You can’t understand it until you’re a mom. Like, I can’t be at everyone’s activities all the time. Mom guilt is so wild.”
Kardashian, who co-founded the successful apparel brand Good American, shares two children — daughter True, 7, and son Tatum, 2 — with her ex, NBA player Tristan Thompson.
“People that talk s— about nannies, we all have help in some capacity,” Kardashian revealed on the episode. “You can call it daycare, you can call it a school, you can call it in-laws, your mother, sister, whoever. A babysitter.”
She continued: “For some reason, the term babysitter people find way less offensive than a nanny. I don’t know why. We’re all blessed, and it takes a village to raise a family. I do not understand the shame that people give to other people for having people help them with their kids. There is no shame in that.”
Why The Kardashian-Jenners Might Need Extra Help
As their family continues to grow, it’s easy to understand why the Kardashian-Jenner clan might rely on additional support.
Kourtney Kardashian shares three children with ex Scott Disick: Mason, 15; Penelope, 13; and Reign, 10. She also has a son, Rocky, 1, with husband Travis Barker.
Kim Kardashian has four children with ex-husband Kanye West: North, 11; Saint, 9; Chicago, 7; and Psalm, 6.
Khloé Kardashian is mom to True and Tatum.
Rob Kardashian shares daughter Dream, 8, with ex-fiancée and social media personality Blac Chyna.
Kylie Jenner has two children with ex-boyfriend Travis Scott: Stormi, 7, and Aire, 3.
Kendall Jenner does not currently have children.
Reflecting on Family, Jealousy, and Personal Growth
“The Kardashians” star also spoke candidly about family dynamics and the parenting challenges that come with raising children in a large, high-profile household.
She noted that her daughter True is close in age to cousin Stormi, daughter of Kylie Jenner, and cousin Chicago, daughter of Kim Kardashian. That similarity sometimes sparks tension.
“And sometimes that’s challenging because they each want the same thing all the time,” she said. “And I sort of like that, ‘cause I like to say, just ’cause someone has that doesn’t mean you get to have that. And those are smaller lessons, but you learn that later in life, so much bigger.”
Kardashian also reflected on how she’s retrained her mindset to avoid falling into the trap of comparison.
“And you can be inspired by others or motivated by others,” she said. “But the jealousy or the comparison is something that we — or I have even — had to retrain my brain to not always look at someone and be like, ‘Well, why don’t I have that? Or how can I get like it?’ You should be more from a motivational way as opposed to an envious way.”
