Caitlyn Jenner Attends Friend’s Funeral While Supporting Her Mother

Caitlyn Jenner is offering a steady hand in the wake of longtime friend Sophia Hutchins’ tragic passing. The former Olympian has opened her home and her heart to Sophia’s mother, Amy, after the 29-year-old’s fatal ATV crash on July 2 in Malibu.

Sources told TMZ that Caitlyn extended an invitation to Amy, who lives out of town, to stay with her in Los Angeles as the family handles arrangements and grieves together. The two women have reportedly been leaning on each other for emotional support.

TMZ obtained documents confirming that Sophia Hutchins was laid to rest at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Culver City, California. Officials have deferred the cause of death and continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash.

Sophia, who first appeared alongside Jenner in the E! docuseries “I Am Cait“, went on to become Jenner’s manager and close companion. Her death has stunned many within the LGBTQ+ and entertainment communities.

Hutchins was also the CEO and director of the Caitlyn Jenner Foundation. The two first connected in 2015, around the time Jenner publicly came out as transgender. Their bond formed quickly, and Hutchins later credited Jenner with encouraging her personal and professional growth.

“We have so much in common; we see the world so similarly, and we both are such a good match for each other because we challenge each other,” Hutchins spoke to People about their relationship in an interview with The Hidden Truth with Jim Breslo.

“She challenges me in so many ways, has allowed me to grow in so many ways and I hope I challenge her to grow and I think because we share so many of the same passions and views, it’s just a great match, a great partnership.”

As per TMZ, Hutchins was reportedly riding an ATV on a road near Caitlyn Jenner’s Malibu home when she struck the bumper of a moving Mazda sedan. The collision launched her vehicle over the edge, sending it nearly 350 feet into a ravine. She was pronounced dead at the scene. As per Dailymail, the authorities are investigating speeding as a potential contributing factor to the crash.

Despite the recent loss, Caitlyn Jenner was seen at Brody Jenner’s wedding on July 12 in Malibu, just 10 days after Hutchins’ passing. Caitlyn sat quietly among guests as Brody, 41, married Tia Blanco in a serene outdoor ceremony. Caitlyn’s ex-wife, Linda Thompson, confirmed her attendance in an Instagram Story that read, “The Jenners have a lot of love.”

Caitlyn Jenner shares a son, Brody, with Linda Thompson, with whom she was married from 1981 to 1986. She also has five other children: Burt and Cassandra with Chrystie Scott, Brandon with Thompson, and Kendall and Kylie Jenner with Kris Jenner.
