One year after vulnerably sharing that she’d suffered a miscarriage while working on her latest show, HGTV star designer Veronica Valencia has revealed she and her husband, Kristopher Hughes, are expecting their third child in the summer of 2025.
On March 25, Valencia — who starred in 2023’s “Revealed” and has appeared on many HGTV shows including a recent episode of “Home Town Takeover” — posted two sweet videos of her family frolicking on a beach as she revealed her baby bump. In one caption, she wrote, “Here we go again! Baby 3 coming this summer 🐣 Our hearts are full, our hands will be fuller!”

Valencia’s newest arrival will join her and Hughes’ growing family, which includes son Hunter, 5, and daughter River, 3. She has juggled being a wife and mom while working as a design expert on more than 500 home makeover shows, according to HGTV.
In addition to working behind the scenes as the lead designer for series like season 3 of “Home Town Takeover” and on four seasons of Jasmine Roth’s “Help! I Wrecked My House,” Valencia was a judge on “Rock the Block” seasons 4 and 5, and on “Property Brothers: Brother vs. Brother.” She also competed in 2023’s “Barbie Dreamhouse Challenge” with Roth.
Though Valencia and Hughes, a fellow interior designer, planned to expand their family sooner, the couple went through a devastating miscarriage in late February 2024 while she was away from home, working on a show.
She bravely shared her experience via social media, writing, “This isn’t easy to share, but part of my grieving is sharing and talking about it. A couple of weeks ago I had a miscarriage while away for work. It was both traumatic and terrifying, and I was away from my family and Kris.”
“This was not something I wanted to go through without my loved ones right by my side,” Valencia continued, “however I am forever grateful I had the 24/7 support of my work family (you know who you are) and forever grateful for the kindness of EVERY single member at the local hospital who cared for me and acted quickly with the situation.”

Many of Valencia’s HGTV colleagues celebrated the busy mom’s good news in the comment sections of her posts, including
“Unsellable Houses” star Lyndsay Lamb wrote, “Congratulations 😍” and “Battle on the Beach” star Taniya Nayak commented, “Beautiful family! Congrats!”
Michel Smith Boyd, who will compete in April on season 6 of “Rock the Block,” chimed in, “😍😍😍😍congratulations!”
James C. Bender, one of Christina Haack’s featured designers on “Christina on the Coast,” also wrote, “Congratulations to all of you! ❤️”
Valencia’s posts were also “liked” by HGTV stars including Haack, Erin and Ben Napier, Brian Patrick Flynn, and Ty Pennington.
“Thank you ALL for the love and kind words,” Valencia later wrote. “Our family is so grateful and over the moon.”
