Property Brothers Rank TV’s Most Famous Homes

Whether it’s Monica Gellar’s apartment on Friends, or Lorelai Gilmore’s cozy cottage in Stars Hollow, Property Brothers Jonathan and Drew Scott have an opinion on tv’s most recognizable homes.

At the behest of thespruceofficial, the HGTV stars played a game of “This House or That House,” choosing between two iconic tv homes at a time, and posted the video on Instagram.

Their first choice was between the “Friends” apartment inhabited by Courteney Cox and Jennifer Aniston (and eventually Matthew Perry) and Sarah Jessica Parker’s Manhattan flat on “Sex and the City.”

Jonathan immediately picked the “Friends” apartment but NOT for the reason you might think.

The draw for him was a character never actually seen on the show, “Ugly Naked Guy.”

“You don’t need a TV! That’s endless entertainment!,” Jonathan explained.

“You would be ‘Naked Guy’,” Drew pointed out.

“Two naked guys on one block? That’s amazing!,” answered Jonathan.

Drew would also pick the “Friends” apartment but says he’d “get rid of the purple wall.”

The Property Brothers’ Second Choice Is a Personal One

Jonathan and Drew Scott’s next choice is between the iconic “Brady Bunch” house and the “Full House” painted lady in San Francisco.

And that choice is an easy one for the brothers, considering they both participated in renovating the home for “A Very Brady Renovation” on HGTV.

But while that’s a factor, Drew also says there’s another reason. “I don’t like skinny, tall living. I like a little wide open space. So I would definitely do the Brady house.”

But the nostalgia for their part in restoring the Brady house alongside the actors who played the Brady kids- Barry Williams, Maureen McCormick, Christopher Knight, Eve Plumb, Mike Lookinland and Susan Olsen – certainly plays a role.

Drew and Jonathan Scott joined other HGTV designers including Mina Starsiak Hawk, Karen E. Laine, Jasmine Roth, Leanne and Steve Ford as they worked to turn the house into a replica of what viewers saw on TV 50 years earlier.

Jonathan & Drew Scott Have a Split Decision for Third Matchup

But while they both agree on the first two match ups, the third is a different story.

When asked to choose between Lorelai Gilmore’s cottage in Stars Hollow or Tony Soprano’s mansion, Drew goes Gilmore, confessing, “Sometimes I just feel like a ‘Gilmore Girl,’ I really do. So I’d go for the Gilmore house.”

Jonathan, after quipping, “I’m sure there’s therapy for that,” is singing a different tune.

“I 100% would take the Soprano house because if you’re looking to do a renovation- and it needed some work done- there’s buried money somewhere on the lot and I think it’s over by the little wishing well,” he explains.

Jonathan Leads With His Heart on Fourth Matchup

The fourth paring pits “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air’s” mansion against the apartment in “The New Girl.”

Drew Scott is thinking in practicalities, saying, “I could have my own basketball court, a tennis court, whatever you want. It comes with a butler..”

But twin brother Jonathan is listening to his heart.

“There is no choice here,” he declares. “It has to be the “New Girl” apartment. Because all the memories! All the good times!”

“That you had or that Zooey had?,” Drew asks.

“I’m living vicariously through Zooey, but I would choose that apartment,” Jonathan admits of his fiancée  Zooey Deschanel.

The love birds just celebrated the sixth anniversary of the day they met, filming an episode of “Carpool Karaoke” with their respective siblings.
