HGTV stars Jeremiah Brent and Nate Berkus are always cheering each other along in their professional and personal lives. In a December 10 appearance on Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live”, Brent talked all things “Queer Eye” season 9, and shared his husband’s words of encouragement for him as he joined the long-running Netflix reality series.
“Nate was super sweet, in that he said ‘This show is exactly what you should be doing. Great people, it’s about the right things at the right time, which you know.’ He’s always the most supportive,” Brent said about his husband of 10 years.
Brent joined “Queer Eye” stars Karamo Brown, Tan France, Antoni Porowski, and Jonathan Van Ness for the ninth season of the rebooted series, which saw the Fab Five heading to Las Vegas to help improve the lives of 10 people in the area. Brent took over as the group’s design expert following the departure of Bobby Berk at the end of season 8.

Jeremiah Brent’s ‘Queer Eye’ Co-Stars Sing His Praises
Berkus wasn’t the only one cheering Brent on as he joined the new series, as his “Queer Eye” co-stars joined him in the “Watch What Happens Live” After Show, and told host Andy Cohen what it was like having him join the mix for season 9.
“I think it’s one of the best seasons we’ve ever done. The energy is amazing, the heroes are exceptional,” Karamo Brown said. “Jeremiah brings a new passion, a new spark. I mean, you’ll see so much joy in this season.”
“It’s my favorite season yet, I think he’s incredible in it,” Tan France added, with Brent correcting him to say “we [are incredible].”
“I will say this. This is one of the few things I’ve participted in that’s actually real,” Brent shared. “You watch people walk into new versions of themselves. You get to be a part of it. And to watch my friends do what they do, show love through what they do, it was the most unique thing I’ve ever [been a part of].”
Jeremiah Brent Reflects on ‘Queer Eye’ Filming Experience
Brent reflected on his journey with “Queer Eye” on premiere day, December 12, when he shared a photo of the “Fab Five” to Instagram.
“I truly believe you can’t ask someone to give anything you’re not willing to offer yourself. Asking people to share their most vulnerable parts means giving them all of me in return. This journey pushed me to fully embrace parts of myself that I hadn’t before,” Brent wrote. “Connection will always be at the heart of design for me. I’ll carry the people I had the privilege of meeting and working with during Season 9 with me forever. I’m filled with immense gratitude — thank you to these four for welcoming me into their lives with such trust and warmth. I can’t wait for you all to see what we’ve created together. Season 9 is out now!”
