Jenny Marrs and husband Dave Marrs are always hard at work renovating homes for HGTV‘s “Fixer to Fabulous,” but the whole family got involved in one very special project. Marrs gave an update on the friends’ home they were tackling when tragedy struck.
Jenny Marrs Shares the Special Home Her Family Worked On
On August 5, Marrs took to Instagram to share a family photo and give an update on the home they completed.
“Today was a very special reveal day. This project started many months ago and began as an exciting and super fun remodel for a friend who is like family,” she wrote in the caption.
Marrs continued, “It then took the most unexpected and tragic pivot we have ever experienced in our twenty years of building homes. But today? Today, there was joy.”
She noted, “I can’t wait to share the whole story and the whole project with you all. This one is all about beauty from ashes. 🤍”
The HGTV star added a note about when to expect the new season of “Fixer to Fabulous. “We don’t have an air date yet — most likely this fall!” she wrote.
Jenny Marrs Shared Family’s Special Tradition With Home Renovations
In May, Marrs shared a behind-the-scenes look at the home her family was working on. In the video, her family was seen writing on walls before they started the renovation.
“Years ago, we started a tradition of praying over each room and writing scriptures on the walls of our new builds and renovations prior to paint day,” she wrote in the caption. “It’s one of my favorite ways to bless a home.”
Marrs shared, “As we continue to work on one of the renovations for this season, our family took some time today to pray and record God’s word on the walls of this special place. This one is incredibly unique. We started this project for our very dear friend and his wife and have had to unexpectedly grieve the passing of that same friend here on earth in the midst of the remodel. We don’t understand the timing of this loss or why this project happened right now.”
She noted, “The plans have changed but they were never our plans to begin with. So, we pray. We pause. We remember.”
The HGTV star added, “God gave me the word ‘delight’ at the start of this year and, despite the murkiness in our understanding, we have to trust that, just like the wildflowers that sprung up outside after the spring rain, there are good seeds planted in this soil that will eventually surprise and delight us.”
